-Aaron's POV-

After that, we waited. We waited and waited for another answer, but it never came. All we knew was that Aphmau could end up in the hospital at any moment. We never got another answer, but we did get a breakthrough.

The woman from Canada worked with Alina and her group, and they found a way to keep Aph out of the hospital. She's on another medication that keeps the infection at bay. But it's just as, if not more, intense. They're hoping that after a week, they'll have some time to study it before it tries to spread again. But she's only been on the medication for three out of the seven days, and she's already miserable.

Aph wanted to come over, so I'm with her in my room. I'm lying on my bed while she's laying on top of me, resting her head on my chest with her legs on either side of my waist. She shivers, and tries to snuggle up closer to me for warmth.

"Babe, do you want a blanket?" I ask. She sits up, and covers her arms with her hands to recover some warmth.

"A blanket would be great," She says. I grab the blanket from my bed, and as I'm handing it to her, I notice a difference in her arms. She wraps the blanket around her shoulders, and rests her head back on my chest. When my hands fall down to my sides, I feel a difference in her legs too. She's thinner. Now that I think about it, she's been slowly getting thinner since she first started taking medication for her condition. I guess this time, it's a little worse. Being skinny isn't a bad thing, but it's different when it's happening out of your control.

A little snore brings me out of my thoughts. I look down at Aphmau, and her eyes are closed peacefully. Poor Aph. She's been so tired, sick, cold, and generally miserable. Not to mention the subtle loss of appetite. The least I could give her is a much needed nap.

I gently pick Aphmau up, and get up off my bed. When I set her back on the bed, she groans. She opens her eyes, and looks at me.

"I'm sorry Aph, I didn't mean to wake you," I apologize.

"No, it's okay. I was just sleeping really lightly," She says. I smile and kiss her forhead. Then I kiss her on the lips.

"I love you hun," I say, looking into her eyes.

"I love you too," She replies sweetly. She steals another kiss, and the falls to the bed, snuggling into the blanket. I walk out of the room, allowing her to get some rest. When I walk into my kitchen, I hear a ding. I look in the direction of the sound, and I see Aph's phone on the counter. I ignore it, it's probably Katelyn or Kawaii~Chan.

But then it dings again. And again. This person really wants to talk. Which now makes me realize, there was someone doing the same thing the night she fainted. She must have seen the messages, so I'm guessing it was nothing, right? Her phone rings again.

I walk over to her phone, and turn it on just to see who it was. The lock screen states "One new message". Underneath those words, I see a familiar number. But if it was someone in her contacts, it would state the name, like "Mom" or "Katelyn". But the number is still familiar. Then I get a flashback.

"Aaron, what are we supposed to do?" Aphmau asks me. I look at the inappropriate messages on her phone, and then back to her.

"Well, we can start by blocking the number," I say as I take her phone, and block the unknown number. "Then, we can write it down, just in case."

Aph grabs a small piece of paper and a pen, and writes down the number. I hold out my hand, and she hands me the slip of paper. Then, I set her phone on the bedside table. She doesn't need this added stress. She lays her head on my chest, and snuggles up against me.

After the quick flashback, I immediately recognize the origin of the number. But there's no way.

I look around, and see the slip of paper on the kitchen table. I don't know how exactly it got there but it's there. I scramble over to it, and pick it up. I walk back to her phone, and compare the numbers. The numbers match.

But there's no way. The number is blocked... unless she unblocked it. I don't mean to invade her privacy... but I have no choice. I click on the notification, and it takes me to the messages. I see the ones from the other night, which she didn't reply to. The new messages are the same old story.

I look at the number, and it's shows that the number is blocked. So how are they messaging her? I guess we've got a hacker on our hands, a skilled one at that. They have enough skill and experience to somehow get through the barrier, who knows what else this guy can do.

I turn her phone off, and set it back on the counter. I would tell her, but it's more stress than she needs.

After about 2 hours, Aph comes down the stairs. I look back at her, and she smiles.

"Hey babe. How was your nap?" I ask. She walks towards me.

"Awesome! Your bed is so comfortable!" She says with a big smile.

"I know. It's cause I'm awesome," I joke. She laughs. I kiss her forehead, and take her in my arms. "You really did need that nap. You fell asleep in a matter of seconds," I point out.

"Yeah... I was really tired," She replies. She lays her hands on my chest, and I get a glimpse at her thinner wrists and arms. I look at her.

"Are you hungry Aph?" I ask. She shakes her head.

"No, not really," She says.

"When was the last time you ate?" I ask. She thinks for a second. Then she looks at me with unsure eyes.

"... Can I trust you?" She asks.

"Yes, ofcorse you can," I asure her. She bites her lip.

"Two days ago... for breakfast... I only had two pieces of bacon from the breakfast Kawaii~Chan was making... I haven't eaten anything since..." She admits. My eyes widen.

"You... that's all you've eaten in the past two days?" I ask in astonishment. She nods her head with tears lining her eyes. I caress her cheek with my hand. "Please don't cry..." I plead softly.

"I'm sorry... I knew something was wrong. I was just never hungry. I've completely lost my appetite. And when I did eat the bacon, just the small amount made me feel... kind of sick," She adds.

"Have you told Alina?" I ask. She shakes her head, and looks down at the ground. I bring her face up to look at me. "It's okay. It's okay," I assure her.

"No... it's not... I'm sorry Aaron... I..." She apologizes as a tear streams down her cheek. She looks up at me. I can see immense guilt in her eyes. I pull her close to me, and press a kiss on her forhead. She tightens her grip on me as a sob rips through her.

I comfort her as well as I can.

"I'm so sorry Aaron," She apologizes. I guess now I know why she's so skinny all of the sudden. She has a major loss of appetite, and she's sick at the same time.

"It's not your fault," I say. I look down at her. "You now I love you, right?" I ask. She nods. "Don't you ever forget that. I'll love you no matter what."
