Chapter 1

CHAPTER 1 

LAUREN POV

I was sleeping so soundly until I heard the door of my hotel room close so loudly. I sat up from my bed so fast to see my manager, Josh with a face so red. Oh shit I'm gonna get it this time.

"Hey Josh." I said to him.

"Don't hey Josh me, Lauren. The record label is fucking furious right now." He said with a very pissed off voice.

"Why? What did I do?" I said clueless. He sighed.

"TMZ and every fucking social media site has just named you in their top 10 failing artists of 2015." He said with disappointment evident in his voice.

"What does the record label say about it?" I ask him nervously because I could potentially lose everything I've worked for in the last 2 years.

"They said and I quote "get your shit straight or they'll drop you." He said looking at me with pleading eyes. Meaning the label already had a plan that I have to comply to. I sigh and nod my head for him to continue.

"They want you to find a girlfriend and pretend for a whole year so that every rumor and shit about you being a drunk ass and womanizer lesbian would vanish. Meaning you also have to clean up. No more one night stands or getting drunk Lauren." he said. Ugh now I have to get myself clean too? I could fake a relationship but not end my drinking. God I hate rumors and those stupid tabloids.

"Is there any way I could say no?" I ask him sighing knowing the answer already.

"Nope. You either agree and find a fake girlfriend fast or say goodbye to your career." He said before taking a seat on my bed.

"Fine. I'll call Normani for a favor. She should probably know someone who'll be nice enough to do this." I said before looking at him. He gave me a small smile and his eyes show gratitude. Josh has been with me since my family disowned me for pursuing my career and my dreams instead of finishing High School. I hated high school anyways, everyone was so damn judgmental. I still talk to my siblings because they never really was in it when my parents decided to disown me. Josh has been with me through my ups and downs and he has literally become my father figure. I smiled back at him before he left to tell the label I agreed. I decided to do all my morning routine before I called Normani.

*ring ring*

"Hey Laur what's up?" Normani said through the phone.

"Hey Mani. I need a favor. Could you drop by my hotel room right now?" I asked her.

"Yeah sure. I'll be right there in 20." She said before hanging up. 

While I waited for Normani to come, I decided to go watch TV switching the channel to Cartoon Network because Adventure Time was on. Yeah I still like cartoons so don't judge. A few minutes a heard my door open indicating Normani was here already. Yeah Josh and Normani had keys to my room since they were the only people who are very close to me.

"Hey Laur what did you need?" She asked as she approached the couch I was sitting on. I decided to tell her everything from Josh coming here all angry to the label telling me to change or else they'll drop me and finally to the label's master plan. I sighed and leaned my back on the couch and now all I see are the white ceilings this hotel room has.

"I need a fake girlfriend Mani. Do you know anyone who'd help me out?" I asked her with desperation in my voice because I seriously love my job and my fans. This is my dream and I'm not giving it up.

"I could call my girlfriend and ask her if could ask one of her friends to help out." She said. She has a girlfriend back in New York, her name was Dinah Jane. I saw her once when they were facetiming. They are really a cute couple. They met at Constance High 2 years ago. Normani used to go to school there but she left due to wanting to pursue a singing career like I did. Unlike me, her parents supported her in everything. I met her at the RDMA's 2 years ago when her and I were just starting out and we just instantly clicked. She's genuine and very honest that's why she's my best friend. After a good 30 mins of Normani talking to her girlfriend, she came back smiling meaning she had good news.

"Okay so Dinah said she'll try to ask her best friend Camila to be your fake girlfriend. So pray that girl will say yes Lauren and please treat her nicely okay? That's my girlfriend's best friend." She told me with pleading eyes. Yeah I'm a bitch to almost everyone I meet except for my fans. Normani knows how rude and bitchy I am to others.

"I can't promise anything but I'll try." I said looking at her. She gave me a smile and hugged me saying she'll text me soon when she gets an answer from that Camila girl. I sighed and decided to just stay in my hotel room since Management says I can't have a life anymore.

CAMILA POV

I am currently at my house with Dinah and Ally and for the past hour she has been telling me to say yes to being Lauren Jauregui's fake girlfriend. I am seriously getting so annoyed I might punch her but if I do she'll beat my ass and lets face it she's stronger than me, I'll probably end up dead. So to stop her from annoying me I finally agreed to it.

"Really Mila?"She asked with her face all lit up like a house decorated to the extreme with Christmas lights.

"Yeah I'll do it just stop annoying me." I told her before rolling my eyes. I am going to regeret this soon. My parents know I'm gay so they wouldn't mind. They never really did bother with my life. All they care about is their damn companies and whoever they work with. At least being a fake girlfriend to someone gets me to experience new things and it'll make my life a bit more interesting.

"Okay so Normani told me that we'll meet up with Lauren on Saturday. She already texted Lauren the details and they'll make up something during the meeting to thank you for agreeing to it." Dinah said smiling. I looked over at Ally who was giggling.

"What's so funny?" I asked Ally.

"The fact that you might fall in love with Lauren." She said laughing and now Dinah joined in.

"No I won't. She's not even my type." I said rolling my eyes.

"Okay wanna bet? If you fall for Lauren you'll have to do whatever Ally and I want." Dinah said smirking at Ally who gave her a high five. God my best friends are so childish.

"And if I don't you'll do anything I want." I said giving them an evil smirk. We shook hands to agree to the terms of the bet.

"Its on Cabello." They both said at the same time. I just shook my head and thought of all the scenarios that could happen when I finally meet Lauren on Saturday. I am so not ready for this.
