Refuge I take in you

To shield me from the rain

To protect me from the storm

So that I will never be cold again

Support I am given

By the pillars of your comfort

And without it – like the building

I would crumble to be dirt

Enclosed I am at times

Bound by your distinct walls

The window was my only freedom

To hear the bird calls

A choice you gave me

To stay together or to leave

But like a door without a handle

It was impossible to be free

I was confused about it all

What this love actually meant

Did your roof over my head -

Really cost a lot rent?

Honestly, I think I was scared

Of winding up unloved and alone

So now in your arms

I pretend I am home…
