The king and the witch

There once lived a King

Who saw his kingdom burn

To ashes they were reduced

And a lesson he had not learned

He built it up once more

With sticks of greed and misconception

Bricks of lies and pain

And a roof of pure deception

He did not care for his people

All whom he treated like slaves

Like the prince of Egypt he ruled

And drove them all into an early grave

The people terrified, yet fed up

Sought to put an end to his reign

A raggedy witch they summoned

To cast a curse yet again

That night she went to the palace

Transformed to beauty from blight

She charmed and delighted

And danced throughout the night

The king was quite pleased -

And ushered her into his royal bedroom

There she worked her wonders again

Before she cemented his doom

A long dagger dipped in honey -

She bought out while he was asleep

A revenge so sweet it made her smile

While he lay counting sheep

Warm blood stained the sheets

And the evil witch cackled

She took the crown off his head

And onto hers she shackled

Peace should have been bestowed

Upon the kingdom at last

But the witch shattered everything

Future, present and past

Moral of the story – things are not always as bad as it seems.

And I just felt like telling a story through a poem...so yeah...
