Scene Seven

INT: The Phoenix's Base, The Phoenix's Office

(The Phoenix is at his desk looking at a map of London, Gilmour comes running in)

Gilmour:

Sir! They've found Edwards body...

The Phoenix:

(Shocked) What?

Gilmour:

The police have found Edward's body and its badly messed up, they tortured him, shot him dead and claimed that we did it in order to get information about The Leaders whereabouts

The Phoenix:

Unbelievable, the lengths he will go to, to ensure no one opposes him...right, well if he's tortured and killed Edwards there's the possibility our position is compromised...Gilmour, commence code red...

Gilmour:

Yes Sir!

(Gilmour leaves the office and goes to a microphone, he turns it on and checks the sound is up on the speakers)

Gilmour:

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been instructed by our great and wise leader, The Phoenix, to issue a code orange...please remember your training and exit the building in an orderly fashion. Please rendezvous at the base in Whitechapel; there will be a green door knock three times when you arrive, thank you

(Gilmour goes back into The Phoenix's office)

Gilmour:

Done sir, what's next?

The Phoenix:

We wait for everyone to leave to ensure that they're all safe, and then we follow

Gilmour:

How noble of you sir, ensuring the safety of your people before yourself

(The last person leaves, leaving only The Phoenix and Gilmour alone in The Phoenix's office)

Gilmour:

Okay sir, are you ready?

The Phoenix:

( Said sinisterly) why yes I am, it's such a shame you can't come though, being shot by The leader's men as we left

Gilmour:

What are you talking about sir? I don't understand

(The Phoenix takes out a semi-automatic pistol and shoots Gilmour in the head; Gilmour collapses to the floor dead, The Phoenix goes over to the body pushes it with his foot slowly turns away, turns back and shoots the body repeatedly)

The Phoenix:

Bloody kiss ass...

(The Phoenix then leaves the base and Gilmour's body behind, about ten minutes or so later The Leader's men storm the place, they come across Gilmour's body they remove the body in a body bag and start sweeping it and treat it like a crime scene)

INT: The Phoenix's Whitechapel Base

(The Phoenix comes through the green door panting)

The Phoenix:

They killed him...they killed Gilmour

(A crowd of people looked shocked)

The Phoenix:

Look, we can mourn our losses when we win this, for now we don't have time, now come on lets go! Move people

(The crowd dispense in a slow and depressed mood)

The Phoenix:

Okay I need someone to replace Gilmour...anyone up for the job?

(A young man raises his hand; The Phoenix looks at him and scans him up and down)

The Phoenix:

Fine, I guess you'll do, what's your name kid?

Nichols:

My name is Paul Nichols, sir, but my friends call me Nichols

The Phoenix:

Okay then Nichols, I want you to first do a check and make sure that everyone is here that should be, any anomalies come and see me

Nichols:

Yes sir!

(Nichols turns away from The Phoenix and gives an evil smile and walks away with a list of names in his hand)

INT: The Leader's base, The Leader's office

(The leader is sitting on his chair his face still hidden in shadow, he is about to talk to Mr Delfore)

The Leader:

Well Mr Delfore...give me a progress report

Mr Delfore:

Well sir, we raided the address, he had been operating from the building, however they had left by the time we arrived. There was one thing though; we found a dead body in the main office, he had been shot to death

The Leader:

I see, do we have the body?

Mr Delfore:

Yes sir we do, also Nichols has infiltrated his new base and will keep us informed upon his actions

The Leader:

Excellent, you've done well Mr Delfore, now I wish to see the body

Mr Delfore:

Yes sir I'll call ahead to make sure the body is ready for when we arrive

(They leave the office, The Leader is still unseen, and Mr Delfore is on his phone)

INT: Morgue, inside The Leader's Base

(Three people are standing over the dead body, the body is covered by a sheet, only Mr Delfore and the Coroner's faces can be seen, The Leader is hidden by shadow)

Coroner:

He was shot several times in the head which was the cause of death

The Leader:

Show me...

(The coroner removes the sheet from the head and pulls it down to the waist of the deceased)

The Leader:

(Gasps) Cousin Gilmour!
