RIKKI

December 31, 2013 8:00 p.m.

"Okay, guys, let's go over the plan one more time," said Kade.

"But we've gone over it a hundred times," whined Adam.

"Yeah, I'm sick of hearing about the plan," whined Kelsi, agreeing with Adam.

"Well, do you want to be the one that falls behind and gets us caught back in here or killed?" Kade asked.

"No," Adam and Kelsi grumbled in response.

"Okay then, here's the plan. I'll set my phone alarm for 2:50 tomorrow morning. Kade and I will roll you out of bed. Before we go to bed, we'll have everything ready that needs to be ready. That means if you have anything laying around here that you want to keep, you will get ready now. We're gonna take a sheet along with us just in case," I said. "After everyone's awake and alert, we're going to go out of the front door of the bunkhouse, hopefully. Then we'll run to the Soul, which is parked up by the house. Kade will have the keys, and he'll be driving. You two little ones will climb in the back of the car as quickly as you can, and I'll take shotgun. I'll tell Kade where to drive, and I'll call the police and our parents. In less than 24 hours, we'll be home, guys, and we'll be able to tell the police who's behind all of this."

"Well that was a mouthful," joked Kade.

"Yeah, it was, but we need to have this down so we get out of here without getting hurt. Now you two, get to bed. We need you to be as rested as you can be so we can get out of here tomorrow," I said.

The two little ones grumbled, but eventually climbed into bed. After a few minutes, both were snoring softly.

"It's amazing, really, how loudly those two snore," commented Kade with a laugh.

"You snore way louder," I teased.

"I do not!" he protested.

"Yeah, you do. You should've heard yourself Christmas night."

"I do not snore," grumbled Kade.

"You're cute when you're angry," I said as I quickly pecked him on the lips.

"That was wimpy."

"What?"

"That kiss. It was pathetic."

"Well, your argument was pathetic. You snore whether you like it or not," I finalized.

"So, how about that kiss?" said Kade with a hopeful look.

"You're such a beggar," I said with an eyeroll as I pulled Kade close and kissed him. I kissed him overly passionate, and I think I made him happy. "How was that?" I asked flirtily as I pressed my forehead against his.

"Much better," he said as he closed the space between us once more.

When we finally pulled away, I said, "It's weird to think that in 24 hours we won't be seeing each other every second of every day."

"Yeah, I'm gonna miss it. How will we manage? I don't know if I can live without you."

"I don't know if I can live without you either. How will I sleep at night not knowing if you're okay?"

"We'll have to text, I guess, once I get my new phone since those bozos have my phone right now."

"Yeah, I suppose we could try get it back, but we don't know where it is and it might be too risky," I suggested.

"No, we better not risk it. My phone's not worth anyone's life," Kade replied.

"Well, we'd better get to sleep. I'll set my alarm and I'll stay right by it," I said.

"I'll stay with you," said Kade.

"I was hoping you'd say that," I said with a smile. "Good night, Kade."

"Night, Rikki. I love you."

"Love you, too."
