Constantine's POV

"Today we have a new transfer student from Greece. Let's all welcome him. Stay here on the platform."

Umakyat ako at humarap sa kanila.

"Introduce yourself." 

"...Constantine...Constantine Leventis."

"Mr. Leventis here is his first time in school. Due to a medical condition when he was a child, he wasn't able to attend school, so do treat him well. If you have any questions you may ask them to our class president Mr. Nakano over there. As for your seat, you may seat beside Mr. Franzese."

Pumunta na ko sa upuan ko at nagsimula na ang klase. Nakaramdam ako ng antok, at unti-unti nakatulog hanggang sa paggising ko tapos na ang klase.

"Well good morning to you! Sleeping on the first day are we? Good thing Ma'am didn't notice you." 

Napatingin ako kay Franzese, nakangisi siya.

Lumapit sa amin si Nakano. "Mr. Leventis, sleeping in class is prohibited. Do show some courtesy next time, especially on your first day. Anyway," inayos niya ang salamin niya. "I'm Nakano Katashi, the class president, and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask."

"Formal as always Katashi, and you look stiffer than ever." 

"And you Mr Franzese, don't think I didn't notice you flirting during our lecture. As punishment, you're in charge of showing Leventis around."

"You can't do that!"

"Try me." at umalis siya.

"FYI, never get on his bad side. He's the prince of darkness and..."

Hindi ko na narinig ang sumunod na sinabi niya, at nakatulog na ko.

Pagkatapos ng klase, iniisip ko kung babalik na ko ng dorm o matutulog muna nang kausapin ako nung isa.

"Alright Constant, let's get this over with. You can call me Vitale by the way. Anyhow, the school's a bit big but-"

"I don't want to."

"Huh, grumpy much?" Lumabas na ko ng room at sumunod siya sa akin. "Hey, I've been forced to do this y'know. Now, if you really don't want to then tell Katashi I showed you the library, canteen, art room-"

Pumasok ako sa empty classroom at sinaraduhan siya ng pinto, pero binuksan niya 'to. "Hey I was talking to you!"

"Leave me alone."

"What's your proble-"

Sinaraduhan ko siya ulit at nilock 'to. Sumandal ako sa pinto at napaupo.

Ang ingay.

Lumipas ang isang buwan, ang buhay ko sa academy ay parehas lang sa buhay ko dati.

Nung bata ako, masakitin ako at labas-pasok sa ospital. Sa bahay, lagi lang ako nasa kama, kaya ayaw kong natutulog 'dun sapagkat naalala ko ang mga araw na 'yun. Ang libangan ko lang ay pag-painting o drawing, at dun lang umiikot ang buhay ko kaya wala akong mga kaibigan.

Kahit may makausap lang wala rin.

Hindi naman ako makapasok dahil sa kondisyon ko kaya home-study ako. Kaya nung gumaling ako at pinayagan na mag-aral sa school, gumaan ang loob ko at inisip na magkakaroon na ko ng kahit isang kaibigan.
