Sitting your books, including notebooks, down, you sat down at your desk, your eyes still focused on the homework. You're not sure how much time went by, but it was enough time to make you tired and warned out. You huffed and laid your head down for a moment on one of your books.

"Knock knock," a familiar voice came barging into your room.

You groaned at the voice and sat up. "Aren't you supposed to be downstairs with your friend and my cousin?" You asked.

You could hear Vernon chuckle and he closed your door, now walking to sit on your bed.

"I should be, but I don't want to be." Vernon said, followed up by silence. He spoke up again. "I want to apologize, Y/N..."

You heard him loud and clear, but you ignored him anyway.

"You don't care, do you?" He sighed.

"No, I do. I just don't care to hear it at the moment." You retorted.

"Understandable,"

You could see Vernon get up from the side of your eyes and he walked behind your chair, looking at your homework.

"How do you do that? I remember I nearly fainted learning this stuff..."

You didn't even realize it, but you snorted at his comment which made him smile. He grabbed one of your notebooks and tore out an empty page, sitting it down on one of your books.

"Hey! I'm trying to-"

Vernon then grabbed your hand, where your pencil lied and used your hand to write something on that paper. It silenced you really quick, and you looked at the paper, watching him write out whatever he was writing. After a few seconds, a smile formed on your face as you read some of what he already had.

"Are you smiling?" He asked as he still wrote with your hand.

"No," you replied quickly, followed up by another silence.

"My sister told me about this girl that is in her homeroom class... Y'know... She said that this girl doesn't like me at all, but I'm really starting to doubt that it's true."

Of course his sister told him about that girl.

"What do you think? Do you think she hates me?" Vernon asked.

"I think that she just has an issue with you flirting with her..."

"So she doesn't hate me?"

"No, she doesn't." You replied.

"Is that so? What if I broke up with my girlfriend? Would she have an issue with me flirting then?"

"She may still have an issue with the fact that you flirted when you did have one, but no. She wouldn't."

"Then how come she's letting me flirt right now?"

Silence. The only thing you heard was the pencil still moving and wind hitting your window.

"Why are you quiet all of a sudden?" Vernon questioned.

You looked up at Vernon who was still focused on writing. He only took a second to look back at you before smiling.

"Am I making you uncomfortable?" He asked.

"No, not at all..." you mumbled. "What are you writing though?"

"I'm almost done..."

After a few more seconds, he finished writing and let go of your hand. He then picked up the paper and handed it to you. It was a big apology letter, and it just made your heart warm. Maybe he wasn't as bad as you thought he was.

"I really am sorry... Understand that, please?"

"It's fine, but please tell me-"

"I broke up with my girlfriend a few days ago. We had a huge fight over something she did, and at the end of it I broke up with her. So don't even ask." Vernon cut you off.

"What'd she do?" You asked out of curiosity.

"Nothing important, so don't worry about it." He replied. "But can I ask you of something real quick?"

You nodded and waited for his question.

"Since you're in the same homeroom as my sister, can you keep an eye out? There's something off about Mr. Lee, and I just don't trust him around my little sister..."

"What do you mean?" You raised an eyebrow.

Vernon backed up and sat back down on your bed. "He gives me bad vibes... I'm sure you've heard him talk about me, because I was in his homeroom during high school. I was his favourite student, but I didn't favourite him at all for the pure reason he was always up on girls..."

"Aren't you that way though?"

Vernon grinned and shook his head. "Anywho, I swore he had something going on with my best friend at the time because she had his phone number, they were always texting each other and she was always...so giggly around him. If he's really what I think he is, I need someone to at least try and keep an eye on her to make sure she's safe..."

"So you want me to do it?" You asked and turned your chair.

"Please?"

"...Fine, but I'm almost positive he's not like that."

"You have no clue how thankful I am right now." Vernon said. He seemed relieved which made you soften.

"No need to be..."
