Tyler In A Tree

I decided to not go straight home. I went to the Big Tree.

I never told Seth this but, when my Dad left, I started coming back to the tree, climbing as high as I could and just sit there. Thinking.

It's a great way to clear your head. Just sit there, in silence, thinking.

I got to the tree and climbed as high as I could. I came here a lot so I got better at climbing higher each time. I sat myself on the highest branch that looked sturdy enough to not break and looked around.

I was still bright out so people where out on the streets. Little kids with their parents, old people, teenagers thinking they look cool. Then there was just one lonely boy sat in a tree, the odd one out.

I came here to think so I started thinking.

One thing that's been on my mind was Jaxon and Kyle. I didn't know Kyle and I never talked to Jaxon, but I still felt bad about them. Maybe whoever killed them had a reason? A messed up reason. Maybe there was a pattern. My Dad used to say 'Once is a mistake, twice is a coincidence, three is pattern'. Both were boys, both cut in half. There could have been other connections but I wasn't close to either of them so it would be hard to figure out. I don't know. I hate saying this but, maybe if there's a third murder, there'll be more of a pattern than just gender and death.

The other thing was Margret Lacy. She just showed up out of no where and scared us! Her house is on the other side of the woods anyway, why would she trek through the woods then creep out a butch of teenagers? I'm a little suspicious of her. Now, I'm not saying she did it! She's like, what? In her eighties? No way could she cut someone in half! But still, I'm keeping an eye on that creepy old woman!

Then there's Lily. Sure, I've only known her a few days but I think I was starting to like her. She's different to the other girls around here. They all wear make up and dresses and skirts and all that jazz. Lily wore jeans and no make up, she was really shy which was super cute and she's really smart. I don't know if I like her but she seems really cool and I'm starting to warm up to her. Anyway, she probably would feel the same anyway. She seems to be getting really close with Seth. That's...nice. Seth hasn't really had many friends other than me since coming out and I'm pretty sure Lily doesn't know he's trans. If she does, she's never brought it up, probably a good thing. If she didn't, no doubt Seth would tell her soon anyway. Or she'd be at his house and Linda and Carl would show up.

God, I hate Linda and Carl. Pretty sure the feeling's mutual. I mean, wouldn't surprise me. The only one in that family that likes me other than Seth is Aunt Faye. She's amazing! I almost wish she were my Aunt. Seriously, I mean, have you tried her home made cookies? They are one of, if not, the best things I've ever eaten!

I sat there for another hour, thinking about random stuff. Like what Seth would be doing, or Lily, or if the murder had found their next victim yet. It was still a while away from getting dark so I decided I'd stay there for a little longer.

Teenagers still lingered on the streets, people driving home from work, quickly bobbing to the shop for something for dinner. There were a small group of kids in the field where the tree was with their parents.

The kids were chasing each other around yelling 'tag!' and 'I got you!'. The parents stood talking, keeping a close eye on their kids just in case they ran off a little too far or fell over and started crying.

Reminded me off me and Seth, well I guess Sophie technically. We'd run around until we'd be so tired, our Mum's would have to carry us home. I liked it. I'm glad I could still remember that.

Then we learnt that you can climb trees and we basically became monkeys.

I decided to start heading home and see what there was to eat in our fridge before I went to sleep.

Everyone was watching T.V. and chilling out. They all completely ignored me as I went to get some steak and onion sandwiches and headed up to my room.

I put my plat on my desk and sat on a chair that I forgot to take back downstairs one time. I sat eating my sandwiches, staring into space.

Before I knew it, I'd finished eating and was climbing into bed to sleep.

A/N

Last part was long, this part's short. Mainly because I didn't really have much to write for Tyler's prospective.

Next part will be Seth's prospective at Lily's house featuring tacos.

Fun fact: Never had a proper taco. I'd always break the shells and mash it in with the filling.

I'm writing this right after the last part so I can put this out tomorrow (I guess for you it's today) and then write Thursday's part tomorrow (today) and keep doing it like that unless something pops up.

C'ya! xx

Update: Posting before school so I don't forget to when I'm editing the next part.
