Everything grew silent and my body went cold as my fathers head fell to the ground. Blood began to quickly pool around my his body, slowly leaking toward me. I tried calling to him, but my voice was gone. I couldn't speak, i couldn't move, i couldn't look away. My eyes seemed trapped onto my fathers dead body. His eyes were barely open and already beginning to glaze over. His tongue hung out the side of him muzzle, coated in blood as it leaked from his unmoving body. I couldn't see the wound that inflicted his death........and i didn't want to. Suddenly, my mind came back to me, and reality was separated from fantasy.

"AHHHHH DAAAD NOOOOOO!" I screamed with tear filled eyes, trying desperately to wake him.

"NO NO NO NO NO DAD.....WAKE UP PLEASE!" I shouted pulling and fighting with everything i could to reach him. The red dragon sighed and walked around to my face. He grabbed my muzzle and picked my head up, bringing it to his.

"This is going to be you, your mate, your child, and all your friends in Raven. Ill make sure you watch every one of them perish if you don't cooperate with us." He smiled. My mind wasn't focused on him, instead, it was focused onto the pooling blood that was quickly making its way toward me.

"Get.....get it away!" I yelped trying to pull away from the pool of blood. The red looked at it and smiled.

"Your afraid of it. Why though? Does it bring back memories? Is it because its your fathers blood? Is that why your afraid of it?" He asked grabbing one of my horns tightly.

"Get it away!" I yelped again, my heart pounding out of my chest. I was terrified. Every movement i made reminded me of the hatchery slaughter. The smell, the feel, the blood. The red sighed and pulled my head to the ground, forcing my head into the pool of blood. With a hate filled growl, he began wiping my head across the floor, coating my muzzle, head, neck, and chest with the warm blood of my father. My body froze up as he released my horn, smiling as he did so.

"Now your nice white scales are dirty. That color looks good on you by the way." The red stated, shaking the blood from his paw. My body shook and trembled as the warmth of my fathers blood ran over me.

"AHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed, trying to break this nightmare.....to go back to real life, but the truth lay just feet in front of me. I got Hunter and Artimus killed. I killed my father. Because i was to stupid to slow down and think. Because i......failed. The red dragon sighed and motioned to the other 2 dragons in the room.

"He's to far gone right now. Lets let him sit for a few hours and come back. By then, his mind should be back in reality." The red said causing the other 2 to nod. With the tap tap tap of clawed fingers, they left the room, leaving me alone. It was a feeble attempt to try and keep my composure. My will was broken, my mind was gone. Why couldn't i see the signs? Why couldn't i fight it? Why did they have to die? I asked myself as i sobbed. I never got to say goodbye to them. To mom, Hunter, Dad, Firedrake, Ren....i never got to say goodbye.

We were used from the beginning. Never free, just led to believe so. They planned this entire scheme, knowing that they were abducting children simply to kill them off a year or so later. Why would they do that? To use us and then throw us out like trash.....why? I asked myself as tears ran down my muzzle. I lay in the pool of blood, my body and mind finally giving up. I no longer wanted freedom, only the sweet escape of death. To get away from all this, from everything. My memories began running rampant in my head as i lay, completely submitted to what waited for me. My attention seemed drawn to one such memory i had.

My father and i were sitting one night on the flight deck of the USS.Draco, the moon hanging high i the dark night sky. The light reflected off the water below us, shining like its own sun. We spoke heart to heart. Words i never heard him say were said that night. Then and there, he opened his heart completely to me. It was as if his life was lain out for me to inspect. The good, bad, fun, and rough. The times that made him shed tears, and the times he had to be strong. I looked at him with greater respect after that day. I learned that he was a fighter, both mentally and physically.

"Son." He said, keeping his eyes locked onto the distance.

"Yes sir?" I asked looking at him.

"The future is dark. Its job isn't to make you better, its to destroy the weak. You must keep your head held high and push on. No matter what happens. No matter what you experience. There is always good within the bad, and only the wise will find it. When the road gets tough, never give up. Never lay down." He said, his voice getting stern as he turned his gaze to me. Standing and flaring out his wings.

"You are strong! Prove it to me and never give up no matter what! You are a leader, a legend in training. You are a dragon, and you are my son! My blood runs through your veins, i know what your capable of. Nobody can stop you if you put your mind to something! You are more than i could ever be. Don't let anyone tell you other wise! Never give in, never give up! Come out on the other side even when there is nobody left to stand beside you. Then and only then, will YOU discover what your capable of!" He shouted at me, causing my memory to break. It was as if a switch had been flipped. Anger boiler in my heart, and the will to fight brew in my lungs.

"I will avenge you. I will never give up until your dream is reached. I will bring peace to both dragon and human kind, you jus watch dad! Ill show them all!" I shouted to the sky as my right arm was suddenly freed. I looked at the broken and twisted shackle. The rusted locking mechanism had long been breaking, and due to my struggles, finally gave way. I waisted no time unlatching the other 4 latches around my legs and tail. Standing with a growl, i looked at my fathers body once more.

"I will carry out your dream father, and nobody is going to stop me." I said bowing my head to him in final honoring remembrance. With a growl i walked toward the open door, only one dragon standing guard. Sitting on his haunches at a table looking at an explicit magazine. With a growl i walked toward him. Not caring to hide the sound of my claws on concrete. I approached him with careless abandon. If i died, i would go out fighting, not cowering with fear. Just as i reached the dragon he turned his head, but it was too late. With a swift movement i slammed his head onto the table, grabbing one of his horns in one paw, and the bottom of his jaw with the other. One swift movement caused a loud pop to sound in the room. I released the dragon, his body falling limp against the table, then slowly sliding to the ground.

"No one can stop me now. You just watch dad!" I growled as i turned my attention down on escape.
