Egg Watcher

A loud pounding in our door caused me to wake with a jump. I looked around the lightly lit room as another pound came from the door.

"Shadow, Nina, theres a dragon here. He says you know him. I need you guys to come out and tell me if he's safe or not." I heard Hunter call from the door.

"What?" Nina asked, half asleep.

"Get up. We got something to do." I said lifting her up, grabbing one of the eggs. Nina yawned and grabbed the other, and we opened the door to see Hunter in full combat gear.

"Come on. Lets go." He said seeing us yawn. Neither of us had gotten used to the time zone shift yet, so we were still tired, even though the sun was coming up on the horizon. We walked down the halls and soon to the entrance. Outside were 5 dragons in full combat fatigues surrounding a green dragon.

"Mark!?" Nina shouted before running to the dragon.

"Hey Nina, Shadow." He said giving me a smile. My jaw dropped.

"Mark?! How......when?!" I asked quickly joining Nina at his side.

"Nina tole me about what happened. And....well, i was almost killed. So i came as soon as i got free." He replied lowering his wing to show a gash that had been stitched up.

"So, is he safe?" Hunter asked walking to my side.

"Is he safe? He's more than safe. He is probably the best dragon we could have here." I replied with a happy tone.

"How so?" Hunter asked giving me a confused look.

"He was the guardian of the hatchery on the USS. Draco, and Firebase Charley." I replied placing a paw on his shoulder.

"You....you guys have a hatchery here?!" He asked with happy eyes.

"Yes we do. Nobody wanted the job of guarding it, so its currently open to be filled." Hunter replied crossing his arms.

"Ill take it!" Mark happily exclaimed.

"Are you sure?" Hunter asked tilting his head toward him.

"Absolutely." Mark replied as Lung Wei joined us.

'So, this is the new dragon you said appeared?' Lung asked.

"Yeah, this is him." Hunter replied stepping aside for Lung to walk toward him.

'Come with me. Ill explain everything you need to know.' Lung said turning away. Mark looked toward us, then toward Hunter, who motioned for him to follow. Mark nodded his head and both he and Lung began walking away. I started following them when Hunter reached an arm out to halt me.

"Take your eggs to the hatchery and follow me. Ive got a mission for you, and Raven." He said looking toward the direction Lung and Mark went.
