I went back to the closet and waited for the kid to return. Seeing the dog with such expressions toward the kid made me feel happy and content. I was glad a kid like him had a protecter like that. It was no time before i heard the door to the house open. The boy entered. Followed by what sounded like his dog. They made there way upstairs and to the room. Upon seeing me, the dog barred his fangs and jumped protectively in front of the kid.

"Ajax, be quiet!" The boy said petting him on the snout. I flipped my ears toward him, the action saying,

'Im not a threat to your pup.' The dog made a huff sound and slowly approached me. Sniffing me over before relaxing and sitting in the closet door way.

"Ok Toothless, i got some food and a first aid kit for you!" The boy said as he fell to his knees beside me. He was carrying a large plastic bag stuffed with chips, bread, lunch meats, and fruit. In his other hand was a first aid kit, which he dropped by my side and opened it. With a quick motion, he pulled the splint i made from the shower curtain off and threw it toward the door. Grabbing my bad arm, he pulled it, causing me to growl with pain. Ajax stood and growled at me but stopped as the kid waved his arm at him.

"I think its broken. When i broke my arm, my mom made a thing that went over it. She said it was just until i got to the doctor to get a cast on it. Ill try and do it like she did ok Toothless?" He said as he took a few metal struts out of the box. They were a foot in length each, and looked very sturdy. The kid placed one onto my arm and began wrapping it with medical tape.

'Damn, this kid knows what he's doing doesn't he.' I thought with surprise as the kid placed 3 more struts on my arm. One on each side for support.

"There, I'm finished with the arm." He said tearing the tape free. To be honest, it was actually a damn good job. Ive had combat doctors that couldn't do that good of a job.

"And just because you were good, you get this!" He said pulling a smiley face sticker out of the box and placing on my nose. I was shocked that he trusted a dragon.....me like he did. Most people would scream and run away, but this kid..........was different.

"Your wing looks like it needs to be wrapped too. Let me fix it." He said as he began working on my wing, placing the struts and wrapping them up before folding my wing to a natural, resting position and wrapping the tape around it and my body, keeping it from moving as little as possible.

"There, all done! Now how about some food?" He said pulling dumping out the contents of the plastic bag. Ajax slowly walked to the kids side and lay down, wanting to eat with the kid.

"Hmmm lets see....what do you want Toothless?" He asked, looking at me with a curious gaze.

"Well, a sandwich or two would be nice." I replied. The kids eyes went wide.

"WOOOOOOW YOU CAN TALK!!" He said with a smile. I could tell he was happy. I smiled and nodded.

"Thats soooo cooooool! My friends are going to be jealous that i have a dragon that can talk!" He said hugging Ajax around the neck tightly. The dog whimpered lowly at the boy.

"I can make you a sandwich!" He finally said going back to the topic. I watched as the kid made 10 sandwiches, giving one to Ajax, taking one for himself, and passing the rest to me.

"Hey kid, thanks for the splinting. How did you know to do that?" I asked as i began eating.

"I watch a lot of doctor shows with my mom and dad, and Ajax too." He replied watching me with curious eyes.

"Thats cool." I said smiling.

"Man my friends are going to be so jealous!" He said, his voice going high as he nearly jumped up with happiness.
