We stood and Urbosa walked over to the gap behind her throne. Using the water that was there as decoration, she splashed some down where Link slept. We heard him yelp a little before he backed up, coming into view.

"Meet us at the front, alright?" Urbosa said as he nodded, already running through the sand.

Urbosa laughed pleasantly as we walked out of the room and through the rest of Gerudo Town to the entrance. Link was standing there, waiting for us. I gave Urbosa a surprise hug before leaving. I didn't even glance at the shrine right next to the town as we left to stay at Kara Kara Bazaar for the night.

In the early morning when it wasn't too hot, we went across the desert to the stables where our horses were waiting for us. It was then that I told Link that we were headed back to the castle, but there was something I needed to show him first.

For the most part, our ride was quiet in speech, but buzzing with thoughts. It made me think back to when our silence with each other was awkward and how it frustrated me that I didn't know what he was thinking. So much had happened since that time.

My mind reflected on our journey together. How I despised him, to somewhat liking him, to understanding him, to crying in front of him, to-- well--accepting that I had chosen him right from the very beginning to be my appointed knight.

Lastly, my mind went to the first thing he ever truly told me about himself as an individual. When he showed me how to soothe my horse and get it to trust me.

I broke our silence as I stroked my white stallion, repeating what he told me. "Be sure to take the time to soothe your mount. That's the only way it will know how you truly feel."

Turning directly to him, I changed my tone from remembrance to cheerfulness. I wanted to be sure to thank him personally. It was just that . . . I felt like going to Mount Lanayru was our final destination.

"Your advice was quite helpful--thank you. This little one and I are getting along quite well now." Something I should have told him long ago. I continued, thinking back to when I met my horse, "At first, I wasn't sure if I should outfit him with all of the royal gear. I thought maybe he should earn it first. But it works! He wears it like a true natural."

Again, I looked at Link as he listened to every word I said. I told him the truth about what I was doing, "I'm trying to be a bit more empathetic. Benefit of a doubt, you know?"

It was because of my lack of seeing Link as he was, that for a long time, I didn't see that I had the same kind of doubts and fears he did. Link may have pulled out the darkness-sealing sword, but his true destiny awaited him like it did for me.

Finally, we reached Sanidin Park, the place I had wanted us to go to together before our adventure continued. We got off our horses as I rounded the statue of a stallion, Link staying behind me as I reached the rails of the structure. I looked out to where the final spring was located.

"See that mountain? That's Mt. Lanayru. It takes its name from the Goddess of Wisdom. Lanayru's decree is very specific. It says: 'No one is allowed, under the age of seventeen. For only the wise are permitted a place upon the mountain.' I've prayed at the Spring of Courage and at the Spring of Power, yet neither awoken anything inside me. But maybe up there . . . Perhaps the Spring of Wisdom, the final of the three, will be the one."

I paused. "To be honest, I have no real reason to think that will be the case. But there's always the chance that the next moment will change everything . . . Tomorrow . . . is my seventeenth birthday."

Slowly I turned to him as the sun was peaking up behind me. I was certain that the look in my eyes told him of the feeling I had that that mountain was it. It was all or nothing.

"So then I shall go . . . and make my way up the mountain."

He appeared just as pleased as Urbosa was when I received the news. It would be below freezing, but if I was going to show that I was worthy of the blessings of Hylia, then I would go dressed as I was to all the other springs. I could hold nothing back.
