**DISMISSAL BELL RINGS**

Thank you, Jesus, I don't think I could deal with those people anymore.

I push open the front door and start my walk back home, hoping and praying my dad isn't there. I get about half way before a car pulls up beside me

"hey project buddy, need a ride?" Shawn says through the window smirking at me, I smile and nod

"sure" I say opening the door, I know you're not really supposed to get in the car with strangers but I don't care, I don't feel like walking the rest of the way home.

"I thought you had practice" I say,

"it was cancelled, but hey, do you want to get some food, and then we can go back to my place and work on it? orrrr" he says stopping at the stop sign.

"that's fine, but can we stop by my house, I need to talk to my dad" I mumble, he looks at me and nods

"aright, which way" he asks

"left" I say, he turns left and glances at me

"are you alright?" he says. I look out the window and nod

"I'm fine" I say faking a smile

"you turn right here and it's the house right there" I say pointing out the window, I see my dad isn't here so I look at Shawn,

"uhm, he isn't here but I have to run inside and get something, you can come in if you'd like" I say, he smiles at me and turns off the car, we get out and walk up to the front door, I unlock the door and walk in.

"uhm... can you just stay right here" I say, I didn't want him going into the living room because then he might notice the faded blood stains and I didn't want to lie to him. I run upstairs and grab my wallet. I freeze when I see a car pull into the drive way.

"fuck" I mumble to myself. I run back down stairs

"we need to leave, now" I say grabbing Shawn's arm

"woah, is everything alright" he says, I open the front door, hoping that he went through the garage

"yup, perfect" I say pulling him even harder, but it was too late, I make eye contact with my father, making me stop dead in my tracks

"who the hell are you" my dad says walking up to Shawn. He looks at me and back at my dad

"uh... I'm Shawn, Payton's friend" he says. I walk up to Shawn and smile sweetly at my dad

"can you go to the car...please" I mumble at Shawn, he nods and walks past my father, and walking towards the car.

"you are in for it now girl I swear" he says walking up to me

"if you lay a finger on me right now, Shawn will see, and most likely call the police, so I wouldn't" I say suddenly getting brave. He smirks and raises an eyebrow

"getting tough now aren't you, well, in that case, I guess I'll just have to wait until your done hoeing around and come home" he says.

"what if I don't come home" I say looking down at my feet. He coldly laughs, making me get chills just listening to it

"and if you don't, where you planning on staying, with him?" he asks stepping closer.

"I... maybe" I stutter stepping back, he laughs again,

"oh Payton, you need to learn that there's no one in this world who could ever love someone like you" he says pushing me out of the way as he goes inside, leaving me outside in the cold with my tear stained face and a broken heart shattered at my feet
