Payton's P.O.V

*the next day* 

maybe quitting real school and starting home schooling wasnt the right thing to do. 

but i knew that i would be able to do better in school then in real schooling. 

"i am so glad that you've joined us. your classes start tomorrow" the lady says. 

i was currently on the phone with the lady that helped me start this

"thank you" i say before the phone clicks. i set my phone done and sigh. Shawns been trying to text and call me all day but i never answered. i shut my computer and stand up. i look at the clock on the wall and see the time reads 4:45. 

"shit im gonna be late for work" i mumble to myself before running up the stairs. i quickly get ready and run back down the stairs. i grab my phone and keys before running to the door. i open it and walk out. i close it and turn to walk to my car when i realize theres someone standing at the end of my drive way. 

"ive been standing out here. for the past 10 minutes. trying to figure out what i would say to you" i hear him say. 

"what are you doing here" i cross my arms and start to walk towards the drive way

"i know you left school early. and i know you didn't go to school today. and i also know youve been ignore mine, Olivia's and aaron's calls. and i know its my fault" he takes a step closer to me. 

"whyd you punch him?" i mumble

"he said something about you. so i punched him. why is it such a big deal" he says. 

"no. what exactly did he say Shawn." i step back

"why does it matter. he wont be saying anything again" he says. i can tell he is starting to get annoyed. 

"Shawn. because i know he said something about us. and i told you that was going to happen. i told you that we were hopeless" i say. feeling the tears starting to form

"Payton... dont say that" he says, still stepping closer to me

"Shawn. i have to go to work. and you need to leave" i mumble. 

"Payton. why wont you realize that i don't care what other people think. and you shouldn't either" he throws his hands up, making me flinch back. i watch as his face suddenly changes

"Payton... you know i wouldnt ever hurt you" he whispers. i shake my head and step back

"please leave. i need to get to work" i mumble. 

"Payton..." he starts. his voice cracking 

"Shawn. stop. just leave" i say. closing my eyes. hoping the tears wouldnt fall. 

"fine. im sorry. please text me later" he says. i hear foot steps as they get quieter. i open my eyes as Shawn gets into the car and pulls away. i watch as his car turns out of my neighborhood. 

"why am i like this" i whisper to myself as i open the car door. i get in and start it and pull out of the driveway. 

Shawn's P.O.V

"dude. you need to stop crying" Aaron says as i lay on his couch. cuddling a pillow. 

"Aaron shut up" Olivia says. i look at them and shake my head

"she hates me now, and i dont know to solve it" i mumble

"Shawn. no offense. but what you need to do. is get off this couch,  go to her house. and talk to her. Payton honestly has no reason to be mad at you" Aaron says

"you guys don't understand. she trusted me. i was the person who found out about her dad. i was the one who she trusted with that secret. she warned me about people. people like Cole and Hailie. she was worried. she told me not to get into a fight. but i did it anyways. and now she hates me. she's ignoring me. I've called her tons of times. i just. i don't know what to do" i mumble 

"well. i can tell you what your not going to do. is cry on my couch all day. what you need to do is get up. drive to her house. and apologize, Payton is an amazing girl. but you don't understand whats going o through her head right now" Aaron says. sitting on my legs

"ouch Aaron get your fat ass off of me" I groan. 

"nope. not until you get up and talk to her" he smirks at me. I roll my eyes and kick him to the ground

"fine. but I'm going by myself. I don't need your loud ass mouth ruining anything" I mumble. 

"yes okay." he says. I stand up and grab my phone and keys. 

"good luck. well be here when you get back" Olivia says. I bite my lip and nod

"okay" I walk to the front door. I open it and walk out to my car. i get in and start the car. I drive in complete silence. I pull out in front of her house and stare at it. trying to decide what I'm going to say to her. eventually, after i sit in my car for like 10 minutes I get out and start to walk up the driveway when I hear the front door open. I stop dead in my tracks and look up at Payton who was staring back down at me 

"I've been standing out here for 10 minutes trying to figure out what I would say to you" I say. 

"what are you doing here" she starts walking towards the drive way

"i know you left school early. and i know you didn't go to school today. and i also know youve been ignore mine, Olivias and aarons calls. and i know its my fault" I say, taking a step closer. I notice her take another step back 

"why did you punch him" she mumbles. I take in a huge breath and close my eyes

"no. what exactly did he say Shawn" she says 

"why does it matter. he won't be saying anything again" I say getting annoyed

"Shawn because I know he said something about us. and I told you that was going to happen. I told you we were hopeless" she says. I watch tears start to roll down her cheeks

"Payton don't say that" I take another step closer 

"Shawn I have to go to work. and you need to leave" she mumbles

"Payton why won't you realize that I don't care what people say and you shouldn't either" I say throwing my hands up, making her flinch back.

"Payton...you know I would never hurt you" I whisper. she shakes her head and backs away

"please leave. I need to go to work" she mumbles

"Payton" I say my voice cracking

""Shawn. stop. just leave" she says, closing her eyes. 

"fine I'm sorry. please text me later" I say before turning on my heel and walking away. I get into the car and pull away from the curb. the tears starting to fall. I turn out of her neighborhood and drive in silence back to my neighborhood. I turn the corner and the next thing I know. a car runs into the side of me and everything goes black.
