Percy POV

I woke up the next morning earlier than the rest of camp. I grabbed my suitcase from under my temporary bed and took out an outfit for the day and the necessary items for a shower. I walked into the small bathroom and looked around. It wasn't that speacil. It was bigger than the normal house bathroom, but much smaller than mine. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and got dressed. I wore a silver long sleeve shirt, black jeans, my silver leather jacket, and a pair of black jordans. I walked outside and checked my watch. It was 5:30. I looked around to see what I could do until the others woke up. That's when I heard grunting from the arena. Intrigued, I walked to the arena. I found a certain daughter of ares there hacking and slashing away at some practice dummies. I decided to watch. Honestly, she is a good fighter. Her form is perfect, her footing is on point. The only things wrong is that she's predictable. The only thing these people learn is greek. Greek speech, greek fighting. Everything. I know what your thinking. What's wrong with that? Well as long as your opponent knows what you know, they can counter perfectly if their smart. Though from the observations I have, their not. After she had finished off the last dummy I decided it was time to intervene. I cleared my throat loudly just as she was setting up more dummies. She looked over and rolled her eyes. Her face gaining a sneer.

"What do you want?" She asked. "Nothing really. I'm normally the only person up around this time. I would like to know how you got up so early." I replied. "Sometimes I wake up early and train. Why do you care?" She said back. I smirked and I'm pretty sure my eyes started to look like blood moons. "I honestly don't care. It's just surprising that even one person in this camp isn't that lazy." I said. "Normally, i'd be offended and want to stab you, but unfortunately I know that a lot of people in this camp are lazy so I'll let it slide." She then smirked dangerously. "How 'bout a spar. No catch, no strings. Simple spar." She proposed. I thought about it. I wasn't exactly scared or anything. Just curious. Deciding nothing could go wrong as I didn't sense any lies or danger, I nodded. Her smirk grew and she grabbed her electric spear and shield. We walked to opposite sides of the arena and faced each other. "No weapon?" She called to me. I simply shook my head. She got into a stance and I stood unmoving. With a look the spar started. She charged me with her spear aimed at my stomach. She thrusted her spear at me. I side-stepped and tripped her. She feel face first into the ground, dropping her spear in the process. I walked a little bit ways away and waited. She stood and grabbed her spear. Growling at me she charged again. She tried to use her spear as a baseball bat and swung at my mid-section. I flipped over the swing and kicked her legs from under her. She yet again fell and dropped her spear. This is mildly amusing. I thought. She stood again and decided to study me instead of charging again. Now you get smart. I thought smirking. She then got frustrated and got into a defensive stance. Unfortunately for her, it was the same stance she used in the beginning of the fight, only the first was offensive. The difference being a shift in feet. I decided to take the bait and charged. She smirked triumphantly and jumped over my leg sweep. I quickly stood from my crouched position just in time to catch the electrified spear by its shaft before it stabbed me. She growled at the smirk I gave her. I pulled the spear to my left which led to her face meeting my elbow. She hit the ground again and since I didn't feel like fighting anymore I put her spear close to her throat and waited for her eyes to open. She opened her eyes and saw the blade of her own spear pointed at her face.

"Yield." She nodded frowning. "Don't be angry. It's not your fault. It's the camps." I said giving her spear to her after she got up. "What do you mean it's the camps fault?" She asked. "You lost. It's the camps fault you lost. If they taught you different ways to fight than just the Greek way, you would have had a better chance." I replied. She nodded. "Ya know. I could help with that. I traveled for awhile and learned many different ways to fight. I could train you." I told her. She looked at me. "What do you want if I accepted?" I shook my head. "Nothing. I don't want anything. I have everything I want." I informed her. She looked thoughtful. "I'll think about it." She replied and walked to the showers. I didn't leave the arena. I just sat down Indian style and started my mental training with shadows again. It was six last I checked and they normally woke at 7:45. That should give me enough time to complete my mental training.

TimeSkip cause I'm lazy

"Vengeance?" I cracked my eye open to see Pandora staring at me in confusion. "What are you doing?" She asked me. "Training." I told her standing up. She gave me a confused look. "I was training some powers I had recently gained. I like to train mentally before I do physically, because it helps with the fatigue that comes with using your energy." I explained. She looked thoughtful for a moment before finally realizing what I said. "Oh. I get it. Can you teach me how to do that?" , "Maybe later. Right now, we have a quest to go on." I told her. She nodded excitedly and ran to her cabin to get her things. I just flamed into my room, grabbed my bag, and flamed to the hill. I looked at the huge pine tree next to me. Something was off about it. I used some of my powers from Artemis(shudders) and saw why it's aura felt so weird. I hated using my powers that I got from her. It always reminded me of who my godly patent was. Anyway, I soon found out that the soul of a girl was trapped with in this tree. I could free her, but using that much energy could kill me if I tried. I sighed waited for the others. Luckily, it didn't take long for someone to arrive. Unluckily, it was the daughter of Athena. Annabeth I think.

"Hey." She greeted once she got to me. I just nodded to her. "Um, what's your name again?" Nice try. "Vengeance." I answered. Her eyes narrowed. "Where are from?" She tried again. "A city." And it continued on like that. Her asking me questions and me giving quick useless answers at which she got angry. Finally Pandora appeared with Chiron.

"Your late." Annabeth said angrily. Did she forget it's not her quest? I thought. "Sorry. I went back to sleep after I saw vengeance in the arena. "Well there are other people who are going on this quest. Maybe think about them." Annabeth replied. I rolled my eyes. "Sorry, jeez. Calm down would you." Annabeth just huffed and walked down hill to the van. "What's her problem?" She turned to me. "She's too nosey and spoiled." I replied. She looked at me strangely, but shrugged. We started to head for the van as well, but Chiron stopped me. Also like was running up to us with a shoe box in his hand. "Pan, glad I caught you." He breathed. "Here these are for you." He said handing her the box. She took it and opened it. In the box was flying shoes but she apparently didn't know that. "Um, thanks but the shoes I have now work perfectly fine." She said. He laughed. "Maia!" He shouted. The wings on the shoes popped out and started to fly away. He grabbed the shoe out of the air and repeated the word. The wings laid themselves against shoe and he placed it back into the box. "Um, I still can't really use these. Zues doesn't like me much and if I got into his domain without permission, I'm definitely going to be fried." She said. "They won't take you that high. Trust me." He insisted. She nodded and tucked the shoes under her arm. She walked down the hill, while I stayed behind to talk to Chiron.

"Vengeance. I know you don't really care about the demigods here at the camp, but I do. Please, keep them safe." He pleaded. I looked at him and nodded. He sighed in relief. "Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me." He told me. He then stuck his hand into the pocket of his vest. Pulling out a bronze pen he offered it to me. I took it out his hand and clicked the button. It grew into a 3'ft long celestial bronze sword. On the guard it said anaklumos.

"Riptide." I translated. The centaur nodded. "The tide that takes you by surprise. Yes, this sword has a bad history if you didn't know. Use it well." I pressed the button to shrink the sword back into a pen and walked down to meet the others at the van. I hope this quest goes well, or I might have a fiery fit
