She unlocked the door and shut it behind her, she made sure to not make any loud noises as it was past 11 PM and she was sure that Jisung was probably sleeping at the moment. He was always early for bed, especially if he had work that day.
As Joohyun removed her shoes, she took a peek at the kitchen to see if he was there but as expected, it was dark and empty. She walked slowly up the stairs as she made her way towards their bedroom.
Expecting to see Jisung asleep on the bed, a small smile formed on her lips. However, as she pushed the door open she found the room dark. It was odd as Jisung would always leave the bed lamp on until she came home. However, it was pitch black. Joohyun decided to switch on the lights so she could properly make her way to the bed.
As her fingers pressed the switch, she was correct. Jisung was nowhere in the room. But it was weird because she saw his shoes at the door earlier. "He's probably in his studio." She said to herself. Jisung had a small room, which he made his private studio for editing and polishing his photography skills.
The room was next to their bedroom and the two of them had renovated it into somewhat seemed like a mini studio. Jisung loved the room a lot, he said it was a really great idea and he felt very comfortable. However, they both agreed that only he had access to the room and Joohyun respected that.
As she got ready for bed, she looked at the time on her laptop. It read 12 AM, luckily she had no classes tomorrow so she wouldn't mind sleeping late. Joohyun glanced at her bedroom door from her bed, there was no sign of Jisung. She would knock on his door but she figured out he must've been pressured to send his photos from the wedding by tomorrow or something.
Joohyun decided to continue a bit of her research for the assignment. As she switched on her laptop, she clicked the previous tabs she opened and pictures, articles started loading in.
WEREWOLVES: TRUE OR FALSE?
A few hours back, she was doing a research on wolves, as the professor's statement caught her attention but then things turned around and she was stuck with mythical theories of human-wolves, or better known as werewolves.
She knew that if she came up with a report on this, the professor would've torn her thesis in front of the whole class. Instead, she's reading these just for fun. She had a whole three months before the deadline anyway. Joohyun had completed an assignment that was due a fortnight before, so three months was easy.
"—a person becomes a werewolf by being born one, bitten by one, or cursed by black magic. To kill one, a silver bullet, knife or arrow is need to be stabbed right into its heart." Joohyun had her palm on her cheek as she continued reading. She figured out as it was getting late so she became a little uninterested in werewolves anymore.
"A werewolf is known to be the most loyal of the folkloric kinds, similar to its region, the wolves. The wolves stays with its mate for as long as forever. Wolves are highly known to leave its scent on one another, so no other wolves would mate with their partners—" Joohyun skipped the mating part and started scrolling down for more.
By tomorrow, she would actually continued her with her real thesis. For tonight, she would just satisfy her curiosity. "—werewolves are drawn to the moonlight. The full moon is when the werewolves becomes a full beast, most of the times they are unable to shapeshift into a human form." After she read that, she immediately thought of what the professor said. The full moon was their peak time indeed. That means, their wolf form lasted for three days—
"You're still awake?"
Joohyun was surprised by a sudden backhug. Jisung laid his head on her shoulder after kissing it. It weirded her out the fact she didn't even hear him coming in their room, was she so absorbed in reading this? Joohyun scrolled down the page and exited it, ready to shut her laptop down.
"What were you doing?" Jisung asked softly, his chin on her shoulder as he gazed at her face. "Oh, just reading some articles." Joohyun answered and broke Jisung's hug to keep her laptop on her study table. She then got on the bed and lied down next to him on the bed. She wanted to sleep just now, but somehow the thought of werewolves wouldn't leave her mind.
She looked over to Jisung who had his eyes on her as well. He held on her right hand, his thumb drawing circles at the back of her palm. "How was work?" She asked, catching up what she missed the whole day as she rolled over to face him. "The bride was so bossy, even the groom looked apologetic. I hope they marry because of love." He chuckled and Joohyun had the whole situation imagined before her eyes.
"I have to send the photos to them by this week. I mean she should be all positive on her wedding day, but she was like a headmistress. Not to mention I have more pictures to print on queue." Jisung sighed. He looked over from their hands and towards her face. She had her eyes closed, her eyebrows knitted from the bed lamp.
Jisung chuckled when he realised how tired she must've been. He placed his hand on her eyebrows and rubbed it, easing her face to a calmer expression. He smiled as he looked down on her sleeping. He held her hand once again as he switched off the lights and started dozing off.
