Imagine #51 // Cha Eunwoo

You skipped along the sidewalk on your way to meet your best friend. The sun was shining and it suited your  mood perfectly

He had promised you lunch the other day after you had beat him at a 'who can drink two bottles of water faster' It was a silly little competition but the two of you were always doing things like that

Reaching the restaurant you smiled  after you saw him waiting for you inside. You rushed in and took a seat across from him. He looked up and matched your big smile with one of his own. “I ordered for you already,” he told you cheerfully.

“Thank you!” you said as you set your bag down next to the chair. “How are things going in the studio?” you asked him, genuinely curious about his day

“Really good! We still have some parts of the choreography to touch up but other than that everything is great,” he replied

“Are there any cute trainees walking around?” you asked, wiggling your eyebrows for emphasis

“What? No! I mean, they’re not ugly but they’re not…” he stopped himself at the last part

“What?” you urged him to continue

“Nevermind,” he chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his head

“C’mon! Just tell me,” you pleaded with him, wanting to know what he was going to say.

“It’s not important,” he shook his head, sipping his cola as he chewed on the  straw

“Oh stop! Of course it’s important. You’re important,” you pouted

“Thanks,” he grinned. “Oh! Are we going to go see that movie tonight?” he asked you, remembering you had said that you wanted to go

“Not anymore. How about just a night in? That would be fun!” you suggested as you began to slightly swing your feet under the table “Ok” Eunwoo agreed

That’s how your relationship went. The two of you were inseparable. Lately though you found yourself pushing thoughts of liking him a little more than a friend out of your head

Even just having lunch with him you had  butterflies that you wish there was some miracle to fix it. Once the two of you had finished eating you two split and scheduled a movie that night

When Eunwoo got home later on he let out a deep breath. He couldn’t believe he almost let it slip

He had loved you for a long time now but he wasn’t sure about how you felt. You were his ray of hapiness  and you made him feel confident and happy but what if you just didn't feel that way too ?

He kicked off his shoes and walked further into his shared dorm. JinJin sprung out of no where, scaring Eunwoo a bit

“So?” JinJin asked “So what?” Eunwoo frowned “Did you tell her?!” JinJin exclaimed. “I would have asked you earlier but I didn’t want to get scolded by the others for going off topic.”

“No,” Eunwoo sighed tiredly. “I don’t think I will. We’re so good together as friends and I don't want to ruin that , so I’ll leave it like that.”

“Seriously? You’re being stupid. Just tell her! That way you can stop moping around and be happy when she says she feels the same way,” JinJin spoke bluntly

“I’m not doing it,” Eunwoo shook his head. “With that said, I'm leaving”

“Bye,” JinJin chuckled already knowing where he was headed

You had changed into your pajamas and taken out some snacks for the two of you to eat as you watched whatever you would decide to watch

You raced to the door when you heard a knock and naturally let Eunwoo in “Where are your pj’s?!” you gasped as you looked at him wearing what he had been wearing earlier

“I’m already comfortable,” Eunwoo laughed at your small reaction “You better be because I’m thinking horror movie tonight,” you grinned evilly

“Not happening,” Eunwoo glared at you. “Maybe another time. Probably not but maybe.”

“Whats wrong?” you  asked him.

“Why are you asking me that?” Eunwoo said, sitting down on your small couch

“C’mon. I know when you’re upset” you said as you took a seat next to him and turned your body towards him, giving him your full attention

“It’s nothing,” he shook his head in protest “I’m not leaving you alone until you tell me,” you poked him

“I’m serious! It’s nothing!” Eunwoo snapped. You were taken aback by his sudden outburst but knew something must be really wrong for him to act like that

“I have no shame in being that friend that pushes you until you tell me. I’m here for you Eunwoo. You can tell me  anything. You know that right?” you told him

“Yeah I know. I just had a talk with JinJin before I came here and it put me off a bit,” he briefly explained

“What did you two talk about?” you continued with the questions

“Like I said, it’s nothing,” he laughed in frustration. You had never seen him like this and it was concerning you the more you thought about it

“It’s obviously something,” you scoffed “Please don’t put me into this situation,” he pleaded, finally looking at you

“I just don’t understand. Did I do something wrong?” you said “No!” he answered quickly

“Then, why can’t you tell me?!” you continued, curious as to what was making your happy best friend so stressed “Because I already know what you’re going to say!” Eunwoo exclaimed

“Which is?!” you raised your voice back at him

“That I’m crazy for wanting to be more than your friend. That you see me as a friend and only a friend and that is okay but I just don’t know how to get over it!” he let everything spill out and once it was in the air he leaned his head back, the weight coming off of his shoulders

You stared at him in disbelief. Those unwanted butterflies came back but you found yourself happy by his words

“You feel that way about me?” you asked in awe “What?” Eunwoo asked, surprised by your tone

You smiled at him and pushed him lightly. “Sorry to disappoint but I may feel the same way. I don’t know though I guess we’ll have to see.”

As days passed you learned to love that feeling of butterflies fluttering in your stomach every time you laid eyes on him

You grew to love the groans and complaints of the other boys and even your own friends. The two of you fit and you knew everyone was just jealous that the two finally figured out that you were meant to be more than friends
