I woke up early in the morning yesterday
Just before dawn broke and pierced skin
And I saw how the house moved
Without the bodies to breathe life into it
Without myself and the brothers
And the mother and father
To take away the light triumphant
And make it our own perfection.

It was magnificent really
How the inanimate became animate
When the others slipped and fell
And bled away their light
To make room for the dark
How it came to be on its own
Without us lifting a finger
And silencing the possibility.

Dawn came minutes later to clean up
But I was already slumbering.
