Acid rain is pouring all around me
Smoke from our battles is all I see
What is going on? Where'd you go?

After the battle's lost and nothing won

When the smoke disappeared, you were gone as well
Your scent isn't here; i know. I can tell.
We fought and stabbed til we breathed our last
You left with a crutch, I'm here with a cast
You limp on your leg, I can't feel my hand
You walked away while I could barely stand
Love is a war we were both destined to lose
Because it only came down to the words we'd use
You said words that cut deeper than a knife
I said things that made me question my life
Why are we here if our feelings are long gone
Why have you become cold hearted- me withdrawn
When did this life turn into a dangerous maze
Where our vision is blurred by hatred and haze
I need to know because I am done fighting
Your embrace is dark and cold; uninviting
I need to know how we made it here
Where the love we had starts to disappear
Well you disappeared too so I guess that's that
I'll wipe the memory of you on the front door mat
That way, I'll forget you ever lived in this place
I'll forget the tender feeling of your hands on my face
You've been forgotten; by I can't seem to forget
You've forgotten me and moved on I bet
Well then i wish you all the best
Because you failed your most important test
You've failed at the test of life
