Jay's P.O.V.

I was back in my own room, the television blaring the news in front of me. Louise had shown me how to work the remote before she had left and to ring if anything happened. I could tell she was a little paranoid, but I could look after myself.

They had also ordered room service before they left, just some macaroni cheese for dinner. I had my laptop sitting on the bed in front of me and I was working everything out, what was what and how to work everything. There were already apps I was familiar with on the home screen, namely Twitter and Tumblr.

There was a knock on the door and I stood up to open it, thinking it was the room service, only to find and young women in a green and black dress clutching her purse. I looked at her curiously.

"Oh! Sorry, I must be on the wrong floor!"

"What floor are you looking for?"

"Sixth."

"Oh, this is the fifth." I closed the door behind her, wondering why they even let her onto the floor. Dan had said something about security guards stopping the public getting into the hotel and onto our floor.

I made my way back to my bed, dragging my leg behind me. I had worked out how to walk on my cast without the use of my crutches, even though I still carried them and although it probably wasn't the best for healing my leg, I did it anyway.

The next time there was a knock on the door was maybe ten minutes later, and this time I knew it was room service, unless that lady had somehow made it back to my door. It was room service, a guy carrying a covered tray, which smelt really nice.

I took it from him and nodded thanks, hobbling back into the room to put it down before heading back to shut the door. They guy was still standing there, but he was looking down the hallway at someone, and I poked my head outside to see what he was looking at.

It was the same lady, just wandering up and down, up and down.

"That lady knocked on my door before, she said she was looking for the sixth floor so I have no idea how she got in here." He nodded grimly and then headed over to her, escorting her down to the elevator.

I headed back to my bed, lifting the lid off the tray and just smelling the amazing smell of pasta and cheese all mixed together. There was also a glass of orange juice, which I took a sip of gratefully, turning my head back to the news.

The weather was on screen, predicting rain for the following few days. It said 70 degrees, and doing the maths I had been taught to change in to Celsius, I worked out it would be around 22 degrees the following day, not too bad considering rain was probably going to be present.

Around 8 o'clock my eyes started closing, so I turned to television off and settled down under the covers, even though I already knew sleep would evade me. My mind was flicking from one thing to another, non stop and although I couldn't focus, I couldn't stop thinking.

Staring at the ceiling at 3am until you feel like your eyes are bleeding isn't fun, holding a smile on your face when on the inside you feel one step away from falling and never getting up. I felt the tears stinging in my eyes and I let them flow, I had been holding everything for far too long.

I had always known things were going to get bad again, I had nothing to distract myself from thinking all the bad thoughts anymore, I had no reason to fight for survival, the only reason I was still alive. No family, my friends all gone, the only reason I was there was because Dan and Phil felt bad for me. Maybe it would be better if I just... left.

Dan's P.O.V.

We got back to the hotel room just after half past nine, I had almost fallen over several times due to how tired I was. Stumbling into Phil and I's shared room, I collapsed onto the bed, burying my face in my pillow and listening to Louise heading back into her own room.

There was a scream from next door and I looked up in surprise, only to see Phil rush in through the door and I cautiously followed. I would have thought Jay was in bed, but I couldn't see her anywhere, her bed was empty with a tray sitting on it, and a piece of paper clutched in Louise's hands.

I took it from her.

I'm sorry. I didn't know how long it would take to come to this, but I can't continue to tell myself everything's okay when I know it's not. 14 years of hoping everything would work itself out, 14 years of feeling powerless to change anything and 14 years of wondering if I'd better off somewhere else. Thanks for everything.

"She's gone." I took one more glance over the note and around the room, her phone and laptop were both sitting on her bed, black screens, before turning back to Phil, his hands covering his face in shock.

"I don't know where she's gone, but something tells me we need to go find her now. Is anyone else still up?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It took less than 10 minutes, we managed to gather at least 20 people willing to help find her, including Mark, Jack, Ethan, Tyler, Mat, Stephanie and Tyler Oakley. They had also brought some friends alone, making the total number including Phil, Louise and I, closer to 30.

"We don't know where she's gone, we've been gone for a few hours and she could have gone as soon as we left."

"She didn't, she was there when I went and escorted a lady downstairs just after 7." I turned to see one of the hotel workers, still dressed in full uniform, standing just below us on the stairs.

"Are you sure?"

"Definitely, there's only one girl around 14 with a broken leg in this hotel." I looked over at Phil, it was surely her.

"The girls at the front desk might have seen her if she went down that way, they are quite observant." Tyler Oakley immediately went downstairs with him and we directed everyone else into different groups, out onto the street.

Phil and I stayed behind, searching the hotel was the next best thing we could do without trying to risk our lives. We were both terrified, Phil's hands were trembling like an earthquake and there were tears threatening to fall from his eyes.

"What did we do? How didn't we see this coming?" I opened my mouth to speak after he finished, but I couldn't get it out without stuttering.

"I think I saw- saw it, the way she woul- would look at things and sometimes n-not speak and just the- just the way she acted, it was like me." Phil leaned forwards to give me a hug, not saying anything. I thought he was mad at me until,

"It's okay Dan, I know you didn't want to say anything, but we need to find her now."

"Where should we go?" I could hear my voice shaking.

"The roof, it's really the only place she could go really, if she's still here." We took the stairs, we were only 2 floors from the exit to the roof, which we found with no trouble.

The door was already open.
