Jay's P.O.V.

I spent the first half an hour of the flight just staring out the window, watching the world fly by. Everyone else was on there laptops, typing or doing something else and I saw the flight attendants go by a few times, handing out water or other drinks every now and again.

After I had become bored of watching everything outside, I pulled my Harry Potter book out of my bag. I was finding it very interesting and even though I was struggling to read it at a steady pace, I knew it would be good practise for when I went back to school.

School had never been something that was a big part of my life, I had been home schooled when I lived with my parents and then I only had a year at a normal school before I was back on the streets.

I scanned my eyes back down the page to where I had left off and then stopped at a word I had never seen before. I squinted at it, before asking Louise, on her laptop next to me.

"What does that mean?" I was pointing at the word 'parchment', something I had never come across.

"It's like ancient paper, it was what they used in the olden days before they had paper." I looked across the sentence and yes, it made sense.

"Oh, thanks." She looked at the book curiously but turned her head back to her own computer quite quickly.

I continued to read, it was like a world had come alive in my mind. There were so many character, so many different places and so many opportunities to create an entire world among those pages.

I had only heard stories coming from someone mouth before, I had only held a few books in my life before and most of them had never been opened. The ome that stood out in my mind was the bible, I had read it almost everyday when I was living with my parents and once I started to realise this was all a massive joke for myself, I gave up.

I had never understood old english properly, it had never made sense with all its thous and thees, but apparently it was a requirement for my parents. Harry Potter was much more interesting, made up characters with personalities and adventures to go on.

I can't remember how long I read, maybe a few hours but by the end of that I was about half way through the book and no where near ready to stop. The only reason I stopped reading was because the flight attendants came around with lunch and Louise had to coax me out of the book.

The food was chicken and rice, with a side of what looked like peas and corn but I didn't touch them because it looked like yellow and green mush. I picked at the rest of it, eating only a tiny bit of rice and nothing else. I was still full from the food I had had earlier, and my stomach still wasn't used to having so much food.

Dan and Phil were leaning up against each other, laptops out and talking quietly, occasionally typing something or pointing at the other's screen. Louise was writing something too, her food left abandoned on the tray table in front of her.

There was a screen on the seat in front of me, a remote fixed into the seat below it and I pulled it out, only to find it was attached to a string. Louise glanced at me and then looked at her own screen, clicking a few buttons.

"They've got the entire series of Harry Potter movies if you want to watch them."

"Wait they're movies!" She laughed, nodding.

"They're under the family movies if you want them." I played around with the remote for a few seconds before working out which buttons to push, where the movies where and then I pressed play, settling down for a long plane ride.

------------------------------------------------------------

"Jay? Wake up, we're hereeeee" I opened my eyes, groaning at the noise being created from the other passengers. Dan was standing above me, one hand on my shoulder and the other resting on his hip.

Behind him I saw the Louise was already standing up and Phil was collecting his bag from the overhead locker. I sighed and stretched my arms, the window showing me that we were indeed back on solid ground.

My bag was still packed so all I to do was zip it up and then pick it up, swinging it over my shoulder. Double checking I hadn't left anything in my seat, I picked my crutches up and pulled myself out and into the aisle, clicking as I went.

Dan turned every so often as we walked up the aisle as there wasn't much room between the seat and my crutches needed quite a wide area, but I made it to the exit fine. We headed in an upwards ascent into the airport and were met by the blast of air conditioning and I sighed in relief.

We trekked down to the belt where our bags would eventually come out and Dan and I went to sit down, taking Phil's backpack with us.

"How was that?"

"It wasn't too bad, it was the just the- the uhhh- the take off. That was bloody terrifying."

"I don't particularly like the take offs either, but we've still got the flight back remember?" I let out an exaggerated groan, flopping down on the bench and hoping to get rid of the cast as soon as possible.

"How long do I have to have this bloody cast on, it's killing me."

"6 weeks I think, and you have to go back for another x-ray a few days after we go back to London." We were interrupted by Phil and Louise dragging our bags over, which was surprisingly fast.

"That was easy, they were first off the plane and all at once."

"Where's the hotel?"

"It's near the convention centre, they've booked all of the rooms for us, we just had to request how many we wanted." I stood up, reaching out for my bag, but Phil shook his head and started pulling it himself, heading to the exit.

There was a line of taxis outside the front door, the drivers leaning on their cars and talking to each other. The weather was humid and I could feel the dampness hanging in the air, making both myself and Dan groan.

"Bloody hell, I think England is better even with all the rain, but if it's going to be like this the whole time I think I might drown." We made our way to one of the taxis and got inside, I was squished in the middle between Louise and Dan, and Phil was up the front.

The ride to the hotel was mostly silent, I spent the time staring out of the windscreen and watching the new world roll by. They drove on the opposite of the road to Britain and New Zealand actually, on the right instead of the left. Dan was pointing random monuments and interesting sites out to me as we passed, mostly buildings and I looked at them, but it was mostly houses.

"Here we are guys, I'll grab your bags out." I nodded thanks and then scrambled out of the car behind Louise, almost dropping one of my crutches to the floor. Louise reached out and caught it, handing it back and then helping me to my feet before grabbing her bag from the taxi driver.

Dan paid the driver while we sorted out all our luggage and backpacks and as he pulled away I heard sirens in the distance, making me flinch. I didn't like them much.

We made our way into the lobby and Louise and Phil went up to the front desk to collect the keys, coming back with the news that we were on the fifth floor, with most of the other YouTubers.

The lift was empty and as we made our way up to our floor Dan and Phil started talking about their panels in the next few days. Louise would just be hanging around for the majority of the time and she had said she would look after me, take me around the back to stay out of the crowds.

"There's no way we're going to let you out into the crowds, not with that leg." I sighed but shrugged, knowing it was true. I could hardly walk with all the room in the world, let alone being shoved around in a massive crowd.

"Let's just make it to the room, I think Jay's not gonna be walking much further."
