Renji's POV

It took me long enough, but I finally finished the paperwork by the time Kuchiki-Taicho walked in.

"Glad to see you've finished."

"U-uh...yeah.." I rubbed the back of my neck awkwardly.

I heard him sigh as he approached me. "I received word from Kyoraku that Ukitake convinced Nanao to let Y/N back earlier than scheduled," A huge smile appeared on my face when I realized that my best friend was coming back soon. "but in exchange..." Uh oh. I hope they don't send me.... "Rukia will be in charge of the world of the living."

"Thank you so much, Kuchiki-Taicho!"

He just looked at me with his usual 'I-don't-care' expression. "Erm..Is there something wrong..?"

He sighed in response. "I don't want you to be late again. Or else I will send you over there."

"H-Hai.....Um..."

"There's more paperwork in my office. I want it done in an hour."
