I yawned waking up to the sun warmly flowing into the den, warming my fur almost forgetting about the scratch on my muzzle and regretted the thought as I felt it beginning to sting again It doesn't hurt as much.. I looked outside of the den longingly at the waking cats waiting for their patrols, some eating a piece of prey while they waited I wish I could go on a patrol...It's only a scratch, I don't understand why I can't go I hissed inwardly almost forgetting about my shoulder as I positioned myself and placed my head on my paws That's why. I was bored and quite upset about what happened the day before,
I muttered some curses under my breath and wondered if Violetsoul saw what happened and if she was proud of me Well Darkclan did retreat so that must be pretty impressive right? I began to feel a bit anxious about meeting the she-cat again. I watched a patrol leave camp and I sighed I shouldn't be, she's taking time to help me to be a better fighter and prepare for my future.. I huffed another sigh and turned my ear in the direction of Shellwing entering camp and she meowed when she saw me "Oh good morning Cloudpaw, does your shoulder and muzzle feel better?" She asked and smiled warmly with herbs dangling from her jaws as she padded towards the den
I shrugged and admitted "Well my scratch stings a bit and I haven't really tested out my shoulder yet." Shellwing nodded placing her herbs gently in their specific places on the shelves and looked up at me for a moment meowing "Try standing up, I need to see how it's doing." I nodded and attempted to stand feeling a small sharp pain in my shoulder as I did and somehow succeeded as I stood up on my four paws and looked at her and she blinked and sat there for a moment before saying "You can leave my den," I could tell my face lit up because I saw her roll her eyes sarcastically "But, you must stay in camp and you are not allowed to train so your shoulder can heal." I groaned I guess it's better than nothing I admitted inwardly but just as I was about to walk out of the den when she stopped me "I need to apply some poultice to your scratches."
Once Shellwing had finished I limped out into the clearing, trying to ignore the lingering pain still in my shoulder. Lightningpaw bounced towards me "So your finally out of that den aren't you?" He mused and rolled my eyes meowing honestly "Finally, I have grown tired of the she-cat." I saw something flash in my brother's face but ignored it, not feeling it was important "Where is everyone else?" I asked, trying to change the subject while scanning the camp finding the elders basking in the sun's rays to warm themselves up in the cool air, I looked towards the left to find Silverice watching over her kits who wrestled in the clearing, I turned back to my brother who cocked a ear to the side "No, the apprentices are out on a big battle training thing." He sighed and flicked his tail "I couldn't go because I have to get the ticks off the elders." He cut his eyes towards the elders who were chatting about how the clans used to be while sitting on a large rock with the sun on their pelts, I laughed "What did you do this time, your good the one out of the three of us." and Lightningpaw rolled hiss eyes and scoffed "It's a long story."
I looked outside at the dark camp with my head rested on my paws, listening to my denmate's quiet snoring restlessly I'm scared to see Violetsoul, will she be proud or mad about it? I admitted to myself and sighed I guess we'll figure it out... I closed my eyes, darkness overwhelming me until I woke up into the familiar grounds that Violetsoul claimed was Starclan. I looked around with wary eyes and all my senses alert Why do I not feel comfortable here? It's Starclan right? I felt the gaze of somebody on fur and turned to see Violetsoul smiling at me "Nice to see you again, Cloudpaw." She meowed and I let out a sigh of relief to see her "Oh Violetsoul, I fought off that patrol and Darkclaw! He nearly killed me!" I meowed and looked up to her, forgetting why I was so scared of coming back here. Violetsoul's whiskers twitched but was emotionless "Don't worry, young warrior I saw it all. I always watch you, I'm like your guardian." She ended with a smile showing her sharp, yellow teeth and I blinked Wow, she is even more fierce then I thought!
As Violetsoul and I were ending our training session I shook the mud off my pelt and wincing at the stings dispersed throughout my body "Why do we train with our claws? It's against the code I thought." I asked looking at Violetsoul and she smiled widely with a glint in her eyes "We want you to learn how to actually fight a enemy instead of being afraid to use your claws. If you are in a fight remember even if somebody doesn't want to fight you, fight them. Their clan is attacking yours and that's what matter most isn't it? Loyalty is key but there will be in time that you will forget that Cloudpaw, now lick the mud off you paws unless you want your clanmates knowing where you have been." I wrinkled my nose and hesitantly licked the mud as I was taking all the information in What does she mean "There will be a time where you forget that Cloudpaw." Will I betray my clan?
I woke up to find the lightly barely coming in, I looked at my still sleeping denmates I must of woke up early I carefully tried to get up but my whole body ached, my shoulder overpowering all of it. I gasped and fell back down, I flexed my claws and they ached as well and I looked over my shoulder trying to get a good look at the injuries on my back Not too noticeable I don't think, I'll just say there were a thorn or two in my nest if anybody asks. I decided that was the most likely reasonable reason why I looked like mess and had scratches all over my back And my shoulder? Maybe I slept on it wrong. I nodded to myself deciding that was the best response. I got up slowly and limped out into the clearing to see only a few other cats out, I looked up at the sky that was still a slight orange towards the horizon "Good morning Cloudpaw, how is that shoulder of yours?" I jumped and saw Greyhawk looking down at me "It hurts alot, I think I made it worse by sleeping on it wrong." I lied hoping he would take it and the large grey tom's face softened and licked my forehead "Don't worry you'll be fine, just take it easy." He sympathized and I nodded "But you should go see Shellwing."
I padded into the medicine cat's den and sighed "Is there anyway that you can make the pain go away." The medicine cat's head popped up and she looked at me "What did you do to it?" She said impatiently and I flicked my tail "I slept on it wrong." The white she-cat sighed and turned towards her supply, gathering herbs "You need to learn to be a bit more careful Cloudpaw or the blaze shall conquer the clouds ." She hissed and her eyes seemed to be distracted as she gave me herbs to eat and her eyes widened "Where did you get these scratches?" She meowed suspiciously and I felt her gaze burning hot on my fur "I had thorns in my nest last night." I looked up at her and she narrowed her eyes and turned gathering more herbs, making them into a poultice. She stayed silent the rest of the time until she stood and turned away, flicking her tail in a signal to leave.
