If Only I Were Someone Else
If only I were someone else...
Someone who did not break down every time;
Someone for whom love is Prime.
Someone who would not let the darkly-glazed sky rain;
Someone who was strong enough to stifle back pain.
Someone whose sorrow was not as tainted as a black dye;
Someone who was hardened like ice in the Sun's eye.
Someone who would not let fake upturned crevices appear;
Someone who would never have to face fear,
Someone who would not have hatred rushing through the vein;
Someone who would have no room for pain.
Someone who would not let blatant lies hold;
Someone who instead witnesses the untruth unfold.
Someone who would not be lost like thee;
Someone who would free the likes of me.
Someone who would not be a victim to ripples of terror;
Someone who would be the epitome of perfection in an unannealed mirror.
Someone whose battle wounds would not be so deep and sore;
Someone whose ends of shreds were not so torn.
Someone self-respecting is what I wish to be;
Someone with specks of rainbow is what I want to see.
If only I were someone else...
