Once the nurse got to the room, she helped me stand up and Sal got me into bed. The nurse handed me a gown and left. Sal leaned over me and helped me sit up. He pulled my shirt off gently and placed his hand on my stomach for a few seconds. I slid the rest of my clothes off because I needed to move around. I couldn't just lay in this bed in pain. Sal then helped me get the hospital gown on and he tied the back. He was about to take a step back, but I had a death grip on Sal's hand and he shifted uncomfortably. I glared at him and snapped, "You're not going anywhere. This is your fault." He shrunk back and I heard the door open. I looked over at it and saw Sarah. She smiled, "Are you ready?" I sighed heavily, "No, I'm not, but I have no choice." Sarah laughed and patted my right hand. "Happy birthday by the way." I snickered and shook my head, "Gee thanks. I really want this kid to have the same birthday as me." She laughed again and hugged me. Another contraction hit and I yelped while tightening my grip on Sal's hand. He whimpered and closed his eyes tightly. I saw Sarah come over and pried my hand from Sal's. She then took his hand in hers and pressed down on it, "Tell me where it hurts and don't worry, this happens a lot." She pressed down hard and he yelled out. Sarah sighed, "Oh Haley, you broke poor Sal's hand." I gritted my teeth, "He'll live. He'll never have to go through this like me. It's his fault I'm like this." More people walked in and had tools out, which made me concerned. Sarah noticed this and waved it off, "Don't worry, we'll only use these tools if you end up needing a c-section." I nodded and Sarah got a brace for Sal's hand. She slid it on and tightened it, so it wouldn't come off. Sal then gave me his other hand and squeezed mine. Sarah looked up and said, "It's time." I breathed in heavily and pushed with all my energy. Sweat was running down my face and Sal wiped it away with a cloth. "You can do it," he whispered. I looked at him and started shaking my head, "I can't. Not again." He smiled, "You can and you will. You will deliver our creation." I closed my eyes and pushed harder, "Fuck!" Sarah smiled, "One more should do it!" I pushed again and a cry rang in my ears. "It's a boy!" Tears ran down my face and I looked up at Sal to see he also had tears running down his face. That's when another pain ran through my body. I worriedly looked to Sarah and she pressed on my stomach. I cried out and she mumbled, "It's either another baby or tumor." My eyes widened and I was starting to have a panic attack. "Calm down. Haley, it's gonna be alright, just try to push, so we know if it's another baby," Sarah explained. I calmed myself down and pushed as hard as I could even though I was exhausted. Sarah looked up and smiled, "Push again." I looked up to Sal again and whispered, "Twins." He nodded and held my hand tighter. I pushed the hardest I could and heard another cry. "It's a girl." I started full out crying and Sarah put both of them in my arms. Sal whispered, "Joe and Kerri."
I nodded and told him to lay in bed with me. He was about to protest, but I painfully already moved over. He sighed and got in next to me. I told Sarah to hold Kerri for a minute and then turned my body to face Sal. I moved his arms into a cradle position and placed Joe in his arms. I then took Kerri back and Sarah said, "Time for a picture!" She pulled out her phone and was about to take a picture, but I waved my right hand in front of me and exclaimed, "Not without everyone else." Sarah nodded and quickly scurried out of the room. She then came back with Q, Murr, Joe, Bessy, Rose, Angie, and Jenna. They all looked surprised that there were two instead of one. I smiled and patted the space next to me for Jenna and she carefully sat next to me. Murr, Q, and Joe were on the left side of the bed where Sal was, while the girls were on Jenna's side. Sarah took the picture and Rose yelled out, "Okay what are the names?" I looked at Sal and he gestured for me to tell them. "Okay, for the girl, we've named her Kerri." Everyone went silent but then smiled. Bessy touched my arm, "She would love you for that." I nodded and then said, "For the boy, we named him Joe." I looked at Joe to see his reaction and he had tears in his eyes. "Thank you, but why?" I reached my hand out for his and he took it, "Because you're a father figure to me and I want my son to have the name of my father figure, after all, you pretty much saved my life when Shane was back by telling me to run." More tears fell down Joe's face and he squeezed my hand. I then felt another hand on my arm and looked over to see Angie. "They're beautiful. I'm glad that you and Sal worked your problems out and continued your family." I smiled, "Thank you, Ang. That means a lot and I hope you and Derek get married soon." Angie laughed and patted my hand. She then left and everyone else held Kerri and Joe. Jenna stood up and decided to go home with Bessy and Joe. They congratulated us again and left too. I felt my eyes become heavy and started to fall asleep. My head fell onto Sal's shoulder and I felt him run his fingers through my hair. I then let myself fall asleep.
