  (Soap)

One long day, this was the last oilrig I had to get off line. Now that the hostages were secured and the marines were dismantling the SAM sites, you might be thinking, 'Great now we just gotta go find this prisoner guy and go on with our lives.' Sort true, the part none of you guys probably got was that this imprisonment we were going in was heavily guarded. There was also another thing, the prisoner wasn't to be harmed, under any circumstances.

'Well that'll turn out well, like that Alex guy we were suppost to get.' I thought as I reported the last oilrig dismantled. Everyone was tired, but at least we had a night's worth of flying. We should be arriving at the gulag early morning. With the helicopter we were in, we were stuck sitting. Knowing someone, Worm, would just take some five hour energy in the morning. I reported to Shepard thinking he might not listen till morning anyways, "Sixth Fleet's mopping up. Time to move in."

Although he made offers to let me have some, I didn't except. And the only reason was when I was tired, it seemed as if nothing could truely bother me. Would it really matter, I seemed to never sleep well anyways, so this wouldn't do much of a difference. The others like Roach were quick to accept.

It was dark and freezing, and what made it worse was the fact we were in damp wetsuits and moving at maybe sixty miles an hour maybe a half mile into the air. Finally the pilot asked, "You guys wanna come inside? It's near below zero."

"Yes," Roach agreed.

I sighed, "Alright." And everyone was already pulling themself into the helicopter. Worm pulled the doors closed, and because they were inside the the hull he didn't risk falling into the ocean. First thing I noticed was that it was warm, everyone made themselves comfortable in the crowed space. Ghost was in a different one, watching over a five of his own.

I shut my eyes and tried to sleep. what seemed like a minute later I jolted to the sudden sound of Ghost shouting into the comm, "Captain?"

I noticed that most of the guys in the little bird were awake, and looking at me oddly. After managing to make sence of it all, I realized I must have took a nap, and now Ghost was trying to get me to respond. I shook my head and forced my face to keep from flushing. "Yah Ghost? What is it?"

"What took you," Ghost asked. "I was trying to talk to you for maybe twenty minutes."

"Heh, yah sorry about that," I semi chuckled. "So what were you gonna ask me?"
"What's our plan of engagment for this gulag?"

I thought for a moment and then told him, "Long history of this building. Not much of it pretty. Started out as a castle. With an actual dungeon. Built to withstand any siege. Building survived every brutal winter. The occupants... they weren't so lucky. The Monastery. Didn't survive the purges. Over the last century it's played host to anyone the government didn't want, but couldn't kill. Place is filled with living casualties of the last war... which I swear I thought we'd won. But I suppose it's all a day at the races: you back the losing horse, and this is where you end up. Six-Two-Seven is the piece of meat Makarov wants, so let's cut him loose."

"Okay then," Ghost sighed. "And rules of engagment?"

"We just go in and get out," I answered. "And remember, Prisoner 627 is not to be harmed."

"Got it," Ghost replied. And he went silent.

Without taking his eyes off me Roach seemed to try to read my emotions. Finally he asked, "What's wrong?"

"Roach," I sighed. "How many times do I have to say that I'm fine until you get the message?"

"Well you sure don't look it," He calmly disagreed.

"What do you mean?" Worm asked turning from me to Roach.

"See how the Captain is tencing himself up? He's normally really calm." Roach was more or less refering to the fact my shoulders were hunched.

"Well I wonder why," I asked sarcastically. "Besides the fact you seem to think I'm lossing it."

"And earilier I saw him all misty eyed." Roach went on. Now I was forcing myself to keep from knocking his teeth out. "Also, he's being really seclusive. Just keeping to himself more than usual."

'Damn it Roach!' I thought. "So? That doesn't mean anything!" I snapped, not truely noticing how loud I was actually being until I saw everyone now staring at me in shock.

"And if that isn't proof then I don't know what is," Roach finished.

"What's wrong, Captain." Worm questioned. "Seriously, we want to know."

"Nothing," I shouted before I opened the door and sat on the ledging outside, feeling the sudden breeze on my face. I didn't care, all I wanted was for them to stop interrogating me! I clenched my teeth to the point where they might shatter under the sheer presure that is my jaw.

I hissed a breath, shivering at how cold it was. I didn't really seem to reconize myself much anymore. I wasn't the same, I didn't know what was happening to me! Tears were running down my face, and I hope to god they didn't see me.

The door slid open again and Roach found himself next to me, "Sir, I just wanna know whats bugging you so much?"

"Nothing's wrong," I chocked out, trying to camoflage the tears rolling down my cheeks. "So just stop worrying about me."

"But I just need to know," Roach argued.

"You know what," I shouted. "Why is it you're all of the sudden in my buisness? Why are you trying to be such a wise ass, huh? Answer that for me?"

"But_" Roach started to say but I quickly cut him off.

"But nothing!" I threw my arms up in the air, nearly grabbing Roach to shake him around. Then before I could tell I had lost my balance and fell from my perch! I grabbed the grip with all my strength.

"Holy shit!" Roach yelled. Everyone had heard that and were trying to see what was going on. "Hold on!"

"No really," I screamed over the wind. "What did you think I was doing? Having a tea party?"
Roach held out a hand to held me up, I quickly took and he, long with Worm and a few others pulled me up. I was backwards on the perch, but on. "That was too close."

"No shite," I hissed.

"Come on," Roach gestured for me to get inside. "Let's get back in."

"Damn," Worm tossed his arms up, one hand smack me in the face and I went backwards. My legs caught the grip and I dangled upside down.

"Situation! Situation! Situation!" I shouted flaring my arms around.

"Oh my fucking god!" Roach shouted. "Worm! Damn it! If he dies_"

"Uh let's settle what happens after I'm dead LATER!!!!" I snapped trying to pull myself back up.
Everyone once again grabbed my extended wirsts and pulled me to safety. "You freaking little_"

"Uh I understand you're pissed but_"

"Shut up! You almost killed me!" I yelled.

"It was an accident!"

"Whoa," Roach shouted over everyone. "Can we calm down and get some rest? We only have five more hours until we arrive."

I sneered at Worm and leaned against the wall, arms crossed and turned away from everyone. Not truely happy about my near death experience. Though who would be?

A/N Yah Soap is nearly killed. DAMN YOU WORM AND YOUR EXTREAM STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!!!!! *shaking fish* I DON"T WANT SOAP TO SLEEP WITH THE FISHES!!! At least he didn't die, or that would really screw everything up. But yah. Everyone is conserned for Coap, but Soap doesn't want to admit his feelings to them. For the reasons being he just doesn't want them to see him as weak. SUCH CONFLICT!

(Current Me Note: So this chapter somehow manages to slip through the cracks when I was first uploading chapters. No clue how that happened, but I found it. Since I learned the magical art of sorting chapter order, this will be tucked right between parts 36 and 38 where it belongs. Sorry 'bout that!)
