(Soap)
With our success of rescuing Prisoner 627, a.k.a Captain Price, Shepard just truely wanted to talk to him. I worked on getting an uplink for them, one of the countless things I wish they'd let Ghost handle. Computers, not truely my strong point. If I had a dollar for everytime I got the blue screen of death because of something I did, hell I could buy myself a country, or an island at least. 'Welcome to Soapsland!'
At least I almost got it done, "Uplink nearly complete." I absent mindedly told the two. Done! "General Shepherd you're online with Captain Price."
I listened in curiously as Shepard said over the laptop, "Back from the brink, Captain."
"'Out of the frying pan' is more like it." Price retorted. "This world looks more like hell than the one I just left."
"We thought we'd recover the ACS before the Russians could crack it. We were wrong. Then Makarov turned the U.S. into his scapegoat. Next thing you know there's flames everywhere." SHepard somehow knew how to sould calm and panicked at the same time. Weird. Then Price sent an image of a submarine. "What's this image you're sending me?"
It was a Russian sub, and Price was busy highlighting the nuclear capasity, and I wondered wether he was planning on dystorying the sub, or using the nukes inside. Neither would surprise me. "You wanna put out an oil fire, Sir, you set off a bigger explosion right next to it. Sucks away the oxygen. Snuffs the flame." I couldn't help but notice some sort of insanity in Prices voice, that I could quite put my finger on.
"Price, you been locked away too long. Better get your mind right, son." Shepard sighed. I could almost imagine him hitting a hand to his face prabably think Price was crazy.
"Shepherd, are you willing to do what is necessary to win?" Price asked darkly.
"Always," Shepard replied. Was he really consitering this?
"We got ourselves a pretty big fire. Gonna need a huge bang." Price explained. I couldn't help but think about how much he sounded like Gill from Finding Nemo, just his tone of voice.
"Price, you've been in the gulag too long." Shepard groaned irritatiedly. Then added slowly as if trying to explain this to a second grader, "Focus on taking out Makarov."
"No time, sir. We need to end this war today." Price quickly told him.
"I'm not asking you, Price. This is an order! You're to..." Suddenly Price cut the connention. If I wasn't mistaken my eye was twitching with somewhat annoyance of how freaking long it took me to get that stupid connection!
"Hmm... Looks like we lost our connection." Price semi hummed before he closed the laptop.
I crossed my arms and casually leaned against the wall, pretending I didn't hear any of it. "So how'd it go?"
"Soap, I know you were listening in," Price soildly said. "Looks like next stop is Petropavlosk."
I raised an eyeborw and stared at him, "So you were planning to set off a nuke? Have you lost you mind or something?"
"No I haven't," Price sighed. "But this is just to help the Yanks back in America. Their facing quite a bit, and if we set off an EMP then it should give them the homefeild advantage."
"Did you even think much of this through," I questioned. "What about everything that needs power to keep the civilians there alive? Hospitals and such?"
"They are all evactuated, Soap," Price answered. "And yes I had being consitering this idea since I got out, I know what's at risk."
"Yah well I'm sure this won't turn out as planned." I told him. "Some of us here don't want to be involved with launching a nuke."
"This is why I need you to keep this quite to the squad," Price explained. "I know how some of these guy would react by just meaning them. You're second in command, Ghost, he's a lot like Gaz. I know his type very well, and we can't afford people making arguements. Are you with me, Soap?"
I bit the inside of my cheek and thought a moment, I hated to keep secrets. But in a way the U.S. was kinda depending on it. "Fine but I still don't think this is a good idea. And you're breifing them on the mission." Then turned to get back to the others.
We had to stop for a bit, in need of refueling the helicopter, but we all were crammed into an old house while we waited to continue on. I came into the main room, Ghost had found himself an interesting book and lounged on the couch. I just went through and looked at all the faces, and felt sorry that I couldn't tell them. So I went into the dining room and sat at the table, listening in on Price explaining the mission.
"Alright so we are gonna be heading for Petropavlosk, now our objective is to dystory a submarine." Lies! All lies! Well sorta. "While we are there we need to be steathy. Keep a low profile, and we will all get to this base near the shoreline. If we are separated then we will randevouz up at this town. Now we will reach the base and we hav to push through, this is where we will have to go loud. There is no way we can sneak past so many guards and patrols without being seen. What Roach?"
"Shouldn't Captain MacTavish hear the plan too?" I heard Roach ask.
"He's gonna be manning the preditor drone, so he'll be on teh helicopter watching our progress." Price explained. "We'll reach the base and I'll go into the sub and disable it." In the laungage of Price that ment he'll launch an effing nuke at the U.S. "Any questions?"
No one said anything and it was followed with everyone getting ready for the mission. I got to stay on the helicopter, which would be landed in an area where it was hidden but I could obsurb the town.

Meanwhile (Scarab)
I fiddled with my beanie for a moment before pulling it over my head. This was my mission. With much help from Nikoli I was able to know that the Task Force was heading for Petropavlosk. And I was gonna help them one way or another.
Nikoli dropped me off at a secuded area near the base they were gonna assualt tomorrow. There was a small cabin which was hidden away by the tree line. Nikoli was in one of his bulky winter coats, "I'll stick around if you want. Or should I just come around to pick you up?"
"I'll be fine with you coming around to pick me up." I sighed, noticing my breath swirl a cloud in front of me.
"Alright," He shook his head. "I'm still not too sure about this. What if they find you, or you get the Task Force caught."
"I'll handle it," I groaned. "Just don't worry. I should have everything under control. See you tomorrow."
"Yeah," Nikoli replied before waving a goodbye and getting back onto his helicopter and flying away.
I looked back at the cabin, it was a log one. And looked like a vaction lodge you'd find in ski resorts. I came inside and looked around, it was suttily decorated with wood carved sulptures of animals and a brown couch sat to the side of the grand area. I saw a mini fridge and some counters to the far side, along with an oak table and chairs. Two doors were on the right side of the room. One being the bathroom, and the other a bedroom.
I glanced at the clock, near four-thirty. So in my need to stay occupided I went over the suppilies and weapons I had. I had grabbed a barret 50.cal. One of the many things that would be deadly if I had my hands on them. The sniper rifle also had a silencer and a special scope that would let me choose how far I could see.
Then there was my signature vecture, also silenced and had a red dot sight. Just in case. This was always gonna be my weapon of choice.
And lastly for guns was the mini ozi I grabbed while in Brazil with Nikoli. I mean those things were EVERYWHERE!
I also had a couple knives, one for throwing and the other for stabbing. I don't dare go into the pervy thoughts I was thinking. But whatever, I had everything.
I soon passed the time by taking a long hot shower. Feeling the burning water pour on my head and back felt so good, especially in this ice cube of a place. I got out and redressed in a thermal shirt and cargo pants. Leaving the shoes by the door, I lounged on the couch and was alone with my thoughts for a moment. Or at least it felt like a moment, and was really a few hours.
Shrugging I got some heat up from the mini fridge and popping it in teh microwave. Once again I past the time by just day dreaming. I got the chop swey I cooked then plopped down at the table and had my dinner. But nearly singed my mouth from the hot food. I ran to the sink, got some water. Three words for you, CHUG CHUG CHUG!!! I should remember not to eat so fast next time.
Well after my liquid fire heat up dinner I finally went to bed, and it being around nine at night. It took me little effort to fall asleep. CURSE YOU JET LAG!!!
