"Your sure it was him?" Her mother had asked when she walked in the door.
She nods lightly, and tears fill her eyes "positive. I think he saw me too."
She closes her eyes and let a tear roll down her cheek. Boy, did she miss him.
"Hey Alexa?" Harrison walked into the room from the hallway, rubbing his hands together. I glanced over my shoulder and closed my laptop.
"What'd you need Haz?" I say and spin around to face him on my bed.
"Do you want to go take some photos with me? We could go to a park in town, see the buildings...?" Harrison trails off and sort of ends his sentence in a question.
I do a small smile and sit closer on the end of the bed. "Sure. Let me get changed and get my camera." I slid off and dash to the bathroom, grabbing some clothes on the way.
I change into a hoodie, black tights, and white high tops. I take my blonde curly hair out of its braid and let it fall down. I keep my contacts in and quickly apply makeup. I step out of the bathroom and rummage through my bag to grab my camera.
"Ready?" Harrison says behind me as I'm crouched down going through my bag. I find my camera and stand up a little to quick.
"Yeah I'm ready." I say with a smile.
Harrison smiles back, and I notice he keeps his gaze on me for a few seconds before looking away. I shyly look away, not really noticing my cheeks were burning up.
"Well then let's go." Harrison swirls around and walks towards the door. He opens it and moves his hand, Indicating that I can go through first.
I sling my camera around my neck and make sure my phones in my pocket. Harrison closes the door and catches up to me in the hall. I notice he keeps his eye on me every now and then. I perk my lips and look down, now trying to hide my face from his view.
We reach the elevator and go down to the main lobby. The ride is a bit, since we are quite a few floors up. Harrison leans against the pole and taps his thumbs against the middle. I lean to one side, and tap my finger against my camera.
"So." Harrison says, filling the silence with his deeper voice. "What are you planning on doing for life?" He asks.
I don't bother turning around since it's just us in here. I shrug slightly and look down at the floor. "I don't exactly know. I may continue to take some collage courses on English and photography. Maybe even music." I rub my one arm and look up to see what floor we are on. 6.
"Ah." I'm pretty sure Harrison nods, and thinks for a moment. "Where'd you go after graduation last year? I never knew you left." Now Harrison is just trying to have a conversation with me.
"Oh, I traveled for the summer then I went to collage for a year. I just..." I go and take a breath in and I take a step back, leaning against the pole as well. "Needed a break."
Harrison turns his head to the right to look at me. I turn mine to meet his gaze. "What do you mean?"
I twitch my mouth and look down, avoiding eye contact now. "I don't know. I guess life gets hard after a bit. Plus you know I'm the only girl in my family." I laugh a bit.
It's Harrison's turn to look up to see what floor we are on. 4. "Oh I see." Harrison doesn't talk now, making the awkward silence spread out.
I make a small sigh, and look down at the floor of the elevator. "Tom's changed I guess. I mean, he's always going to be my twin brother but something happened and he's just not hisself anymore."
Harrison continues to stay silent, probably thinking of something to say. "I guess I know what you mean." He finally says. "People start to change. Everyone a different times. Just let him have hit time, he just got a major role."
I smile at Harrison and he smiles back, and I don't think he notices his cheeks are tinted pink. "Thanks Haz." And I turn to face the elevator door that is about to open.
We step out and go to walk around town. I take some nice photos around the park, and of Harrison at his request. And he takes some of me. I'm sitting on the edge of a rock, with my one leg up and I'm looking away, with my hand on my chin.
"Okay, this one turn out great." Harrison says right after the click of the camera goes off. I slid off the Rock and do a mini hop over to him. He pulls up the photo on the camera. "See, what I say?"
"It looks great. I can upload these to my laptop when we get back and send em' to you." I suggest and take my camera back. I sling it over my neck and poof my hair out.
"Okay." Harrison looks down at his watch on his wrist and makes a funny face. I stuffs his hands back into his pocket and looks up. "Tom should be finished soon, we should get going." He says.
I quietly nod, and we walk slowly back to the hotel without exchanging a word. While walking I begin to think, what did Harrison mean that people change at different times? Have I done that change yet? Has he? Guess we would have to find out.
