in the early hours of the morning, two widely known teenagers, lucas j zumann, gilbert blythe from anne with an e, and his girlfriend, poppy hedren, a young star with over ten thousand followers on instagram, were walking home from a romantic night on the beach when a car struck the young girl.
no physical harm came to lucas zumann, but it has been reported that his family have checked him into a hospital to help deal with the trauma.
poppy hedren was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
tributes have been rolling out for her all over social media and at her high school in chicago.
the driver, a male in their fifties, who's
yet to be identified, is in critical condition
and was rushed to surgery.
the driver was not intoxicated.
