Percy goes home.

"This is it," says the cab driver as we pull up to beat up apartment building in Lower Manhattan. I lean forward and hand him the cash we owed him for the ride from Long Island as Annabeth climbs out of the taxi.

She stretches her arms above her head, rolling out the kinks in her shoulders as she surveys the building before us. A metal fire escape winds its way up the side of the building, a midst the brown stoned structure of the place. The windows are placed seemingly at random and there is a crowded parking lot crammed in between it and the next building over.

"It's just how I remember," I sigh, sliding an arm around Annabeth's waist.

She hums, laying her head on my shoulder. Behind us I hear the cab pull away from the curb.

"Are you ready?" she asks after a moment.

I look over the building before me intently. I swallow hard. It's definitely still the same.

"Don't you think we should have called first?" I ask Annabeth, turning to her in agitation.

She shakes her head and takes my hand in hers. "It's not like it matters now," she tells me, squeezing my palm.

I nod, pursing my lips. "What was she like when I was gone?" I'm not looking at Annabeth though, but at the second story window of the building, first on the right.

"Sad," she replies simply, her voice deep and aching.

I look down at the ground. "I'm sorry, Annabeth. For leaving," I clarify. I look at her carefully and she smiles softly before pecking me on the lips.

"I know. And it wasn't exactly your fault, Seaweed Brain," she tells me.

She picks up my hand again. "Come on." She starts dragging me towards the lobby doors. "Time to go."

I let her pull me through the glass doors of the apartment building. Her fingers fly across the key pad, buzzing us in before I even have the chance to recall the number. I wonder how many times she visited while I was lost.

We push through into the lobby and the first thing I spot is the new couch set in one corner. It is plush, covered in red upholstery, drastically different from the skinny, cushion-less one from the past.

Annabeth pays it no mind though and she drags me onto the elevator before I know what's happening. She presses to go to the second floor. My leg shakes uncontrollably as the elevator slowly ascends. It seems longer than the ride to Olympus.

Annabeth places a comforting hand on my small of my back, right where my life line had been. I smile, my shoulders relaxing as she leans into me.

Then the elevator doors slide open and my nervous panting returns. Annabeth is unfazed though, guiding me out of the elevator and down to the end of the hall. We stop at door 207 and I grit my teeth. I squeeze my eyes shut attempt to steady my breathing, but it's no use. I knock.

Almost instant I can hear footsteps from inside, coming towards. I suddenly turn to Annabeth, terrified of seeing her again. She just rubs my back like a small child though and I turn to face the door again as it opens.

The woman standing in the entranceway is exactly how I remember; her eyes twinkling in the light and some graying strands escaping the ponytail she'd tied her hair back with. She's only wearing sweatpants and an old sweatshirt. And in my eyes she is absolutely perfect.

"Mommy!" I cry out like a little boy, launching myself into her arms. I hadn't called her that since I was seven. Tears fall from my eyes as I envelope her. I can feel my T-shirt dampen, she's crying too.

Suddenly she pulls away, peering up intently into my face. "Percy," she sobs, her hands flying up to inspect my scarred skin. "You were gone and then they said you were in Tartarus..." she trails off, looking behind me. "With Annabeth."

She glances sadly at the blonde girl leaning against the doorframe, looking vulnerable. Mom waves her over with her hand. "Come here," she tells her and I grab her arm, pulling her into our messy group hug.

Finally Mom pulls away. Her eyes are bloodshot and there are tear tracks streaking down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry," I choke out.

She just shakes her head. "There are blue cookies in the freezer," is all she says as she closes the front door. I grin sheepishly, thinking of the neighbours who probably witnessed our tearful reunion.

Annabeth and I flop onto the couch in the living room as Mom heats up the cookies. The beep of the microwave goes off and moments later Mom appears with a tray of blue chocolate chip cookies in her hands.

She passes them to me and I take a few as she frets. "I baked them a while ago, while you guys were still," she pauses, "down there. I'm so sorry if they aren't too good-"

"Mom," I cut her off, my mouth full of blue cookie. "They are the best things I have had all year long."

She smiles sweetly at me and settles down on the couch with us. "Are you both okay? Are you hurt anywhere? Should I get the ambrosia out?"

I shake my head. "We've been at camp the last day, Mom, we have been all cleaned and cured. I swear, we are both fine."

She nods as her eyes carefully travel over our prone forms. Finally satisfied she gets up off the couch and stands before us, arms crossed menacingly. Even in the bright light of the room, she looks terrifying.

"PERSEUS JACK!" she starts. "YOU DIDN'T CALL! YOU DIDN'T TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON! YOU MARCHED INTO YET ANOTHER WAR WITHOUT TELLING YOUR OWN MOTHER GOODBYE? WHAT IF YOU HAD DIED? WOULD YOU HAVE GOTTEN NICO TO RAISE YOU FROM THE DEAD JUST SO I COULD KILL YOU AGAIN? AND MY BABY JUST WENT INTO TARTARUS WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW UNTIL CHIRON GOT THAT DAMN LETTER! I THOUGHT YOU BOTH WERE GONE FOR GOOD! MY GODS, DON'T EVER MAKE WE WORRY LIKE THAT AGAIN, PERSEUS! OR I WILL KILL YOU MYSELF! OKAY?"

I smile, happy that Mom is already back to normal. Annabeth leans into me and I wrap my arm over her shoulders.

"Okay, Mom," I promise.

Hey I'm back, nice to see y'all. I am not in fact dead. And maybe you saw, I have entered this in the Watty's because why not? Also I've realized it says it's updated regularly in the description... ha ha ha, yeah I should really take that out. Sorry. Stay tuned though because I wrote a whole ton of crap while I was allegedly 'dead'.

I hoped you liked my version of Percy and Sally's reunion. I even squeezed some Percabeth in!!!

Anyways good luck with the rest of your life and vote and comment cause you guys are too amazing not to!
