1st Person POV

Meeting my best friend at a young age was a blessing. Then dating my best friend became a miracle.

We met back in the grade ten when a boy ran into me while trying to kick a football. I didn't hear him coming, literally. That's only because I've been deaf since age seven, and it really sucks.

Anyways, he kept trying to speak to me; it looked like the words "hi", "hello", and "excuse me" we're forming on his lips, but I'd never know. After he calmed down, I gave him the universal sign for being deaf and he immediately felt sorry for me. Which I get told that a lot, so instead of trying to talk to him, I signed him goodbye and left.

Then he kept coming back. The next week, he brought me tons of papers and pens for us to have a conversation with. He's the only actual person who's been nice enough to speak with me. I also learned that his name is Tom.

From that day on, we did everything together. I even taught him sign language, which he's gotten better at after tons of practice (which he needed). So eight years later, Tom and I live in an apartment together and we do everything together. Tom is also too afraid that something might happen to me when I'm alone. So I'm either with him and Harrison traveling, at my parent's home, or the Holland's family home.

Meeting Harrison was another story. Before Haz came over, Tom told me that one of his mates were coming around later and then they were gonna go out. I was in the other room when they were talking, so even if I wanted to know what they were talking about, I wouldn't have known.

Tom came up behind me and tapped my shoulder, he didn't want to startle me. Haz is here and wants to meet you.

Does he know about my condition?

He will in a minute.

Of course, I rolled my eyes at my boyfriend. Whenever he wanted me to meet someone new, he never told the person I was deaf. He liked the look of surprise on the person's face when they found out.

Tom carefully held my hand and led me to our living room. Haz sat there playing on his phone, and running his fingers through his hair. I glance over and see Tom's hands begin moving, forming the words Haz, this is my girlfriend, Y/N while speaking them at the same time.

I shyly waved at him, but than he began speaking. Immediately, Tom was quickly translating every single word that came out of Harrison's mouth. Hi, I'm Haz. Tom, Tom, Tom, what the hell are you doing with your hands.

Tom laughed. Mate, chill out. I want you to please be respectful because Y/N's deaf. He told Harrison this while signing it for me to understand the conversation.

Wait, so she can't hear me? Harrison's eyes grew wide he looked a little freaked out by this; these reactions are the best.

Well, when I move my hands, she understands everything. Tom stopped moving his hands around to pull me into a side hug and kiss my forehead.

I tugged on Tom's ear to get his attention, I learned that it's the quickest way to do so. Where's our little baby Tess? I wanted to cuddle her earlier but couldn't find her.

Everything happened so fast for Tom in the moment. Harrison wanted to know what I said, but Tom needed to translate everything, and he had to remember where his dog is.

From across the room, Harrison looked like a giddy child when Tom told him what I said. Then smiled wider when Tom told me Tessa is with Sam and Harry today. Everything was just making him excited.
