Early update because i just couldn't resist 😆

We continued with our original routine of daily two hour tutoring sessions. I wondered if it would be awkward or difficult to study and continue normally just as it was before. Awkward- no. Difficult- yes.
Why ?

For the simple reason that after that first kiss we had completed the fourth step of the mating process. Something i should have thought about.
The steps of the mating process were :
1) finding your mate
2) acknowledging the bond
3) first touch and sparks
4) first kiss
5) marking one another
6) completing the mating process by.. umm... im sure you know how.

What ? I'm sure you know what i mean. No, don't make me say it. I am not saying it ! Okay i know you are finding my embarassment funny but now please lets move on with the story.
Yes, thank you...... finally. Alright so,where was I ? Ummm yea so the difficult tutoring sessions.

With the fourth step completed, the mate bond was stronger than before. Add to it the fact that we were friends as well as mates who understood each other, the connection i felt to him was strong. The attraction i felt for him was also amplified now. Everytime he spoke i looked at his lips and knew how they felt against mine, looking at his hands and strong arms i remembered how they felt holding me close to him, wrapped around me. So you get the idea.

Concentrating on ECONOMICS was difficult but Rafe seemed to be as cool as a cucumber and THAT annoyed me.

So in the middle of the study session i just blurted out ," How are you so calm and cool ? Do you not like me any more now that our first date is over ?"

Rafe looked at me, blinked and then he began to laugh, a full belly laugh. Seeing me fuming , he tried to control his laughter and finally said, " Babe, calm and cool ? Me? Ohhh Dani. "

He shook his head and continued with a smile on his face, "I am, right now, the farthest thing from cool and calm. Besides i want you to do well. I did not want to distract you from the lesson that i thought you were concentrating on , but obviously i was mistaken. Your attention lay else where, " he said with a smirk.

I really wanted to wipe that smirk off his face but that would have to wait. First i had to control the blush that was creeping up my face. I'm sure i was as red as a tomato. Stupid , handsome idiot. So i said the first thing (that in hindsight was neither the most threatening nor the most mature retort) " You....you cucumber ! "
See told you ,i am the queen of smoothness and cutting retorts.. arghgh !

But see i was not THAT distracted by the stupid smirk on his handsome face. Dani ! Focus !
Right so, he DID say he was NOT calm. Hmm.... something to exploit.

"Why are you not calm Rafe ? What's on your mind ?" I said in what i thought would be a throaty, seductive voice.

Rafe seemed to catch on , but ignoring it just pulled me towards him and brought his lips close to mine. Yes ! Finally ! Another kiss.

But guess what ? My mate is a tease. He stopped just short of kissing me, a breath away from my lips then he turned his head to the side and whispered in my ear,"For everytime i catch you not concentrating on the lesson, i will have to add another question to the test i intend to set for you at the end of this week."

Then he drew back, winked at me a said , " Is that incentive enough to study now, my Angel ?"

I scowled. I was fuming but deep inside i knew he was doing this for my good. Putting aside his feelings, he was trying and making an effort to leave all distraction behind so that i could study well. I sighed, he really was too good for me.

I think.....i think no, i KNOW that i am falling for this man not just because he is my mate but because he is an amazing guy.

My sigh drew his attention and he asked me what the matter was.
I shook my head and smiled, deciding that if he could do it , then so could i. On an impulse i quickly pecked him on his cheek and looked down at my books determined to keep all attraction and distraction at bay so i could ace all the tests set by him and my finals as well.

Yeah, one difficult task but not impossible when i had an amazing tutor to teach me not just Economics but the art of
not-letting-attraction-distract-you.

Call me dramatic but i am now too far gone. I Danielle Jackson am officially and irrevocably madly in love with Rafe aka Raftar Hassan.
