̶ ̶ xxxi. I WON'T SAY I LOVE YOU EVEN THOUGH I STILL FEEL IT.
you walk away in hand with another man
and he watches from afar
smiling as you look back at him
heartbreaking the moment you turn awayyour best friend
since grade school
always found himself to be a coward
when it came to youplay pretend behind sunlit trees
wife and husband
the perfect treehouse to cup the newlyweds at only eight yearshe kissed you
not on the cheek like he used to
and it made you flush peach
and his eyes became bright
only to dim as you proceeded to tell him how much you hated boys at such a young agehe watched you grow on the back of his hands
falling in love with the crevasses you left to catch cobwebs
finding himself in the laughter you hated the mosthe promised one day to confess his feelings even if you didn't feel the same
but now you wore white
and walked down an aisle built within church walls
standing as one of your bridesmaids as a jokeyou thanked him for all the support
him being the first one to see the diamond on your ringand as you gave your heart to a man who vowed to hold it under a bulletproof vest
he continued to try and pick up the one you shattered to pieces, leaving him to bleed out on the floor
not realizing that even if he did complete the puzzle you had left him
you would always have a pieceleaving him undone.
