BELLE FRENCHE HAD ALWAYS BEEN A VERY QUIET PERSON.

Her books had always been her best friends and popularity was merely but a word that was thrown around in which she cared nothing for. Rather than spending her time bathing in the sunlight of the courtyards that resided on the Hogwarts grounds, or wading through the snow along the streets of Hogsmeade, Belle preferred to stay inside. Seated on the most comfortable window-seat in Ravenclaw tower, Belle was quite often seen there with her nose buried in a book, fiddling with the golden locket that always sat around her neck and no one had ever dared disturb her.

While many in Ravenclaw would agree that it was not odd for their students to be seen with a book, almost every single one of them would say, without a doubt, that they'd never seen anyone read as much as she has. It didn't help either that most of them thought she was weird. She had a smile that always stretched across her face, reaching from one ear to the other. Her hair was brown and bounced against her shoulders in constant, silk-soft curls of melted chocolate. Everything about her seemed perfectly normal - except for her eyes.

Her eyes were a glittering, dark brown that would have been exceptionally enchanting, if not for the constant haunted look in them. Most of the time, Belle looked as though she wasn't all there.  Her eyes quite often drifted off into open spaces of air where she would stare whether it be for seconds or minutes. It was as though she could see something that they couldn't.

However, no matter how many insults she received or how many people whispered behind their cupped palms as she passed, she never really minded. The insults never bothered her, for most of them were repetitive ones that consisted of 'weirdo' or 'freak'. Belle knew better than to believe them, however, as she was very sane, she just had a gift. A gift that was very bittersweet in terms, for she could see the spirits of those who had died, but hadn't yet crossed over into their designated afterlife.

Belle Frenche was a Clairvoyant.

And with the wizarding world coming to terms with everything that had happened during the battle of Hogwarts, Belle's world was about to become a whole lot more complicated.

And that was the reason why Belle was going to return to Hogwarts, a year and a bit later.

She was going to return to the place that haunted her in her dreams, in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, she'd finally be able to come to peace and live her life before the war had taken nearly everything from her.

Maybe, just maybe, she'd be free again.
