Chapter 16 ~ Part 2

Daniel took me to a restaurant where we ate dinner. For the whole night we've been laughing and talking, I was having a blast but I could tell he was nervous about something. I'm not sure what though. Right now though we were waiting for dessert and strangely there was only one dessert available, and they had a TON of desserts. The only thing they had was a chocolate and mint cake, so that's what we ordered

"So uhm V do you uh remember what happened when I came to your house drunk?" He asks nervously. I nod hesistantly and he gulps

"You're not mad?" He asks and I shake my head

"Why would I be mad?" I ask back

"Because...I've broken your heart so many times. I've caused you so much pain and then here I am hopelessly in love with you just when you've moved on" He says running a hand through his hair

...who said I moved on?

"Dan-" i start but he cuts me off

"V, i know you probably don't want to considering the guy I've become and this is such a shitty way to ask you. I just saw the opportunity and grabbed it without even thinking about it and-" He rambles until I cut him off

"Daniel what are you talking about" I say and he takes a deep breath

"V...You already know I love you...it must be so weird to you but I really do. And I want you to be happy and in love with a guy not as fucked up as me but...I can't bear it. I can't take seeing you in someone else's arms. Thinking how that should be me and how I screwed up my chance with you. I already know you'll say no but I'm gonna try anways..."

The waiter places a heart shaped cake on my place and in chocolate syrup written around the plate was the words

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

I look up and Daniel is looking down playing with his fingers.

"What did you think my answer was gonna be?" I ask

"A big fat no" he answers

"Daniel, you know it's hard to move on from someone you've loved your whole life." I say looking right at Daniel's eyes

"Wait so-" Daniel says but I cut him off

"Yes!!!! Obviously a yes!!!"

"I believe that after every bad moment, a good moment comes." I say as we were talking about our beliefs

"I believe that everything has a reason. Everything happens for a reason, every person comes to your life for a reason." He says and I smile

"I'd like to believe I have a reason I've been in your life for so long" I say and he smiles

"V...you're the reason that I'm happy." He says and I smile widely

He kisses my forehead and I close my eyes in peace.

I believe that this is where I belong, in his arms with his love surrounding me and making me feel safe and happy.

We reached to the top of a cliff and below us was a body of water. I looked at Daniel confused and he grins widely

"You know I love you right?" He says and I nod

"I love you so much that I'm not afraid to yell it out loud. I could say it on top of a building so hundreds of people can hear, but I know you don't like the attention" he says

"So...Verdana..."

He cups his mouth with his hands and yells on the top of his lungs

"I LOVE YOU V!!!!!"

I laugh and can't help the huge smile on my face. He brought me all the way here, to this island, just to say that. Just to do this. Just to tell the world he loves me.

"And and and guess what" He says

"What?"

He takes off his shirt leaving his shorts on and walks backwards to the end of the cliff

"I fell for you" he says and backflips off the cliff and into the water. I smile widely shaking my head. This guy is the most adorable dork ever.

I take off my clothes, leaving me in my bikini and dive into the water. When I swim back up he's right in front of me.

"Does that mean you're falling for me too?" He says with a wide grin and I chuckle

"Wrong. I've fallen  for you a long time ago" I say and he smiles widely before kissing me. Once we pull apart for air he leans his forehead on mine

"I can't believe I can do that now." He says and I smile nodding

"I'm sorry that this wasn't the best date though. I know it's pretty unusual but I tried to make it different" He says

"I love this a lot actually. It's different and not just some cheesy going out for dinnee thing and sitting on the grass,watching stars. It's way better." I say and he smiles proudly

"You did this all for me?" I ask and he nods

"I'd do anything for you." He says

"Why?" I ask

"Because you're my everything."

Everyone quiets down as he gets on one knee. I gasp as he pulls out a small velvet box revealing a beautiful promise ring

"V...there will be times where I might hurt you. We might be fighting. We might think that we won't be able to work out. But with this ring I promise you that no matter where we are and no matter what happens, I will always love you. And I promise you that one day you will be my wife. You and I will live the happily ever after that you truly deserve. I promise you this, and I promise that I will NEVER break this promise because I love you so much and I can't see anyone ever taking your place as the love of my life." He says looking me in the eyes. It was silent as they waited for my answer.

"OBVIOUSLY!!! DO YOU EVEN HAVE TO ASK?!" I yell and people start to cheer as Daniel gets up and puts the ring on me. He kisses me and the yells from everyone are blocked. It was just me and him. The kiss was full of love and passion. He was holding me close as if he was afraid to let me go. Once we pulled apart, people patted him in the back and congratulated us. He hugged me tightly, not wanting to ever let go.

"I promise I'll love you no matter what."

"Do you promise too?"

"Of course."
