Chapter 19 - Yip Frickin' Ee

I fling the door open and walk out to be suddenly pushed into a closet on the other side of the hallway by Matt.

"oih!" I say cramped and squished in this hot stuffy closet.

"wait" Matt says grabbing my hand

"what?" I say a tear splashing onto my cheek

"why would I do something like that?" Matt asks making me feel incredibly guilty

"I- yo- it- um. But the vid-"

"can I please tell you my side of the story" Matt asks interrupting me

"uh, um, ok" I say giving in with slight hesitation

"you said there was a video can you explain that first" Matt says pausing

"the one of you on the phone with Heidi" I say calming down

"what about the phone call?" Matt asks either he's really dumb or he's making a point

"she said she was sorry for the cupboard, Hazel thing" I say making a pretty good point

"she was sorry to you, not to me" Matt says still holding my hand

"you didn't cheat on me with my best friend" I say relieved but now I feel absolutely terrible, more tears form in my eyes so many that they spill over the edge.

"of course not" Matt says smiling

I can't run out the door like I desperately want to and I can't stay here,

"why do I always do this?" I say out loud accidentally

"do what?" Matt says

"it's just every time I meet someone I stuff it up and ruin it and they never forgive me, I ruin everything all the time, that's why I avoid romance, that why I avoided Oliver that why I have to avoid you" I frown more tears spilling down my face.

"I'm not going to leave you" Matt says with a cute smile making it hard to not love him

"I-" I try to form a word but get cut off by a kiss, a warm relieving kiss, one that makes everything better one that shows trust, care and devotion. A kiss goes quicker than it should have.

The doors spring open and A shocked Steven stares at us in complete surprised.

"Hazel, Matt?" he says blown away by this sudden chain of events

"hi" I say slowly but then adding a reassuring smile that doesn't help,

"it's not what it looks like" Matt says letting go of my hand and moving a bit away in the closet

"really?" Steven says his eyes still show he's surprised

"yes" I but in before wishing I hadn't as all attention turned to me

"you two should come with me" Steven says leading us through the halls and into his office.

Crap.

'avoid romance, they get you in trouble' I always told myself, and the one boy that I fall in love with gets me fired. Yip frickin' Ee.

"so, apparently a few people saw a bit of commotion, Is that right?" Steven asks us

"yes" I sigh giving in, there's no use in lying
