Chapter 6 - Affirmative

Today is the day, the day of the script read through. At least I've calmed down a bit, last night I could not sleep, hopefully I don't look that bad.

"Heidi I'm going to- um the supermarket," I lie from up the stairs,

"I'll come," she yells excitedly.

Crap.

"No- No! You can't!" I yell a bit to forcefully,

"Hazel? Why cant I go," she asks suspiciously,

"Um you hate long lines, here in England the lines are like fifty people longer than in Australia and the food- smells! Like rotten eggs you'd hate the grocery store," I smile as she walks in the room,

"Really?" she says suspiciously,

"Yeah--" I say before I realize I'm not fooling anyone,

"C'mon where are you going?" she asks giving up,

"I got an acting job and I can't tell you what it is, but the script read through is today," I say feeling bad that I can't tell her,

"That's okay," she says proudly,

"What?" I say shocked,

"That's ok, you don't have to tell me," she smiles,

"Oh what about the whole what's yours is mine best friend rule?" I ask,

"It's like a red mark on a telephone box, non relevant," she smiles, how doses she come up with them,

"Thank you!" I say hugging her,

"Now you better go," she laughs as I grab my jacket, phone, keys and purse,

"Bye Heidi," I yell as I walk out the door,

I wait a few minuets until the car pulls up, I walk over and hop in the car again.

I smile politely at the driver, which happens to be the same one as last time. This makes me wonder whether I will be riding with Matt again.

"Excuse um are we picking up Matt again?" I ask the driver,

"Affirmative," he smiles making me laugh, he sounds like K-9.

We pull up outside Matt's house and he smiles when he sees me through the tinted windows.

"Hey Hazelnut," he laughs as he opens the door and sits down,

"hey- Mattress!" I laugh, "loving your nickname,"

"Why am I that name? Do you want to lie on me?" he laughs,

"gross!" I laugh,

We talk for a few minuets about what we think it will be like until we pull up at our destination.

We get escorted inside and we both get taken into a room with a different large, oval table to last time.

"You guys sit here," say the woman who was calling names at the audition.

"Hey I know you, you were at auditions," I smile,

"You remembered me?" she smiles Starstruck like,

"What's your name? So if we meet again I can say your name," I laugh,

"Jess, Jess Lovebird," she smiles,

"Lovebird, that's an awesome last name!" I laugh,

I smile at Matt before we sit down at the table I notice the our names are on a little name stand in front of us.

"your name stand should say Hazelnut" Matt laughs looking at my name stand,

"yeah? Well yours should say--- Idiot" I say before wishing I could take that back cause that sounded stupid, Matt starts laughing before I join in.

After a while a few more people start to join the table a lot of them were at the meeting a week and a half ago.

"So to start here are your scripts," Steven says passing around the scripts to everyone, is it weird I feel important because my name is on the top of the script.

"Okay, Matt the scene will start with you," Steven starts, "You will have just regenerated and the TARDIS is crashing, can you read your lines from that scene,"

"Legs, I have Legs," Matt starts,

Matt finishes the scene and it's my go to read. I can't do this. What if is stuff up and don't want me anymore?

"Hazel?" Steven says trying to get my attention,

"Sorry, I-- last minuet nerves," I say taking a big breath,

"Ok, Hazel the Doctor has jus landed in your back yard and saved you from falling down the stairs, yes falling down the stairs, your character is going to be very clumsy. So take it away" Steven smiles

"Yo-- you just saved my life," I say my voice full of wonder, confidence and laughter again.

"Indeed I did," Matt laughs,

"Wait, why are you in my house?" I ask making the skin between my eyebrows wrinkle,

"well I crashed," he laughs,

"what into my house?" I laugh,

"No into your back yard," Matt laughs,

"Oh, who are you?" I laugh with confusion like I'm actually there,

"The Doctor," he exclaims with a giant smile,

"Doctor Who?" I say with a bit of Attitude and funk,

"just the Doctor," he laughs like he's tricked me,

"well I think that's stupid," I laugh,

"Well what's your name then?" he says cockily,

"Hope Armstrong," I say confidently. I read on a bit realising they've made me wear a bow tie. Yay.

"Okay yours is better," he laughs,

"Mice bow tie," I say,

"I like yours too, Bow ties are cool," He smiles.

"Good job guys," Steven smiles proudly.

The script read through goes on for a few hours, until we get to the final scene of the second episode.

"So is this what you do, save people," I smile,

"Yes and so do you," he laughs,

"and that's a wrap," Steven smiles, "I'll keep in contact, so everyone get out of here. Oh but Hazel and Matt can you two wait here a second,"

"Okay, you two," Steven says sitting down as we follow, "we need to go through some rules,"

Phew. Thought he was going to fire me.

"1. No revealing anything to anyone until it has been released by one us, 2. No romance between cast members, 3. Anything you break you pay for," Steven smiles kindly,

"Of course," I smile,

"What happens if we break the rules," Matt ask followed by me giving him a weird look as if to say 'obvious' "what?" Matt laughs looking at me,

"you get fired," Steven laughs.
