I awoke to a brand new day

Of my mum starring at me.

I felt for Archie but he was gone.

Her face was stern

She obviously wasn't happy that Archie had stayed over...

"Heyy mum.."

"Veronica... no guys over! Archie has been over way to much!!"

"No" I said and got up to go find Archie.

"What did you just say?!?!"

I turned slightly and said "you heard me" and continued walking out of the door.

ARCHIES POV.

I got the worst call ever this morning
The hospital called me
My dad hadn't made it
I rushed down to the hospital but I was to late he was being taken away.
I fell to the ground
My dad
Was gone.

BACK TO VERONICAS POV

I started walking for Archie's house while continuously calling him. He wasn't answering the phone which was weird but maybe he'd forgot to charge it last night?

I got to Archie's house and stood there and took a breathe. It was weird going there as all I could think of was Fred. Gosh I hope he's alright

No body answered so I knocked a few more times but nothing.

I looked down at my phone and scrolled through my contacts for someone who'd know where Archie had gone. I ended up calling Betty.

"Hey Betty!" I said

"What's up V"

"Um have you heard from Archie today?"

"No sorry but maybe check the hospital might be checking up on his dads progress"

"Thanks B I'll head there now"

"Okay tell me if he's there I'll be down there as soon as I can"

I started to walk down to the hospital as fast as humanly possible. I felt as if I was in one of those games where you could one walk but even though you know that you continue to try and go faster. Yep that is me.

I walked in the doors and was shoving through nurses and people to Fred's room. On my way there a nurse grabbed my shoulder and I spun around.

"Who are you looking for Hun?"

"Fred.... Fred Andrews"

"Um... im sorry to inform you but fred..."

"Oh my gosh" I said my face noticeably dropped.

"Where's Archie?!?!"

"I'm not sure but check in the car park that's where I last saw him."

"Okay. Bye"

I ran back through the people I'd just barged through and smashed the front doors to the hospital open. I scanned the area desperately. I was panting.

He wasn't there.

I redialled Betty.

"What is it now V"

"Fred is dead and I can't find Archie anywhere!"

"Don't worry V we will find him"

(Call ends)

I was spam calling Archie until finally he picked up.

"hello" said a faint voice on the other side of the call.

"Archie where are you I'm worried sick"

"Don't worry I'm at the park"

"Okay I'll be right there"

I hung up and bolted for the park.

When I got there I saw Archie sitting on the swing. I walked over and sat on the one next to him.

"I know this is stupid to ask but .. are you okay"

"Yeah im as good as I can be in this situation I guess"

"Come on its cold out here lets walk back to mine"

"Veronica but your mu...."

"Don't worry about my mum I have that covered" I but in and say.

So we get up and head for my home.

The walk was quiet nothing was said but I honestly didn't know what to say or if he wanted to talk at all.

As we neared my home I could hear sirens and see faint flashes of blue and red.

I bolted to them and stopped in shock when I saw them tugging my father out of the house in handcuffs.

Archie then caught up and held me back.
