Joanne Belle Kameron
"Joanne ..." he - Brandon - whispered. His pale and weak hand fumbled around to find mine.
"Yes?" I asked, intertwining my fingers around his.
He gently stroke my hair. "I love you, Jo."
Tears ran down my cheeks. "I love you too." It was making me blush the way he called me 'Jo'.
He gave me a weak smile. The nurse came back with a tray crammed with chicken rice and water.
"I hope you worked up an appetite, Mr. Murphy," the nurse called out cheerfully.
"Does the media know?" Brandon asked while I helped him sit up.
  "No, sir."
"Does the media know what?" I asked, passing Brandon the fork with the piece of chicken on it.
The doctor had instructed me to help Brandon cut up chickens and pass him the cutlery.
"His mother didn't want anybody - especially the media - to know above Brandon getting hospitalized," the nurse explained.
  I nodded.
