Farewell

Percival returns to office after a week, despite the advice of the doctor. He hasn't heard of Azalea and she didn't even visit him. He became restless.

Upon arriving at his office, he notices a change. Azalea's desk has been cleared out. Everyone stops working when he arrives and Chip steps forward.

"Where is she?", asks Percival. Chip silently hands him the letter and Percival reads it there and then. His heart breaks.

"To my dearest Percival,

Forgive me for leaving without saying goodbye. It's for the best. I know you'll be angry. I'm sorry. I decided it's best that I resign before the scandal erupts. I don't wish to put you in any difficult situation, but know this, I love you, always and forever. You'll be better off without me. Forgive me, my love.

With love, Azalea".

"After Mr. Scamander left with the boy, Azalea boarded a train. She won't tell us where and she was alone", says Chip. Percival turns to Tina, who was recently reinstated.

"She left before I could catch up, sir. She won't tell me where she went", says Tina.

A few hours ago, Azalea bid goodbye to both Newt and Credence. He looks so much better now.

"Miss Lea, you sure you won't come with us?", asks Credence.

"I have somewhere to go. Perhaps you two would like to visit my hometown someday? My grandmother is not really a collector, but she likes to nurse any beasts she found in the forest and I'm pretty sure there's a small community of centaurs that lived there", says Azalea.

"Will you write to me?", asks Credence.

"If only you write back to me", says Azalea, hugging the boy.

"We'll send you postcards", says Newt. She let him say goodbye to Tina as Azalea fixes the bowtie on Credence.

"Now, do me a favour. Listen to Newt, perhaps you can learn a thing or two from him. Try to find a way to calm yourself and don't let the Obscurus thing consume you again. We'll meet again one day", she says with a smile.

Credence hugs her one last time, like a mother seeing her son off. From afar, perhaps that is what it looks like.
