*Sav's POV*

I woke up early the next day. I was going back to work. I needed a distraction from my personal life, though my personal life tended to mix with my work which I was seriously startng to hate. I got dressed and was out the door with in thirty minutes, with a coffee cup in one hand and my purse in the other. I got to work easily and went to my office, which was slowly buzing its way to life. I was reading a submission when Josh came in an hour or so later. He knocked on my door and I looked up. Great way to start the morning, talk to the ex an hour into work and without food too, shame. He shuffled his feet as his gaze fluttered across the room, refusing to land on me.

"Yes?" I asked, kind of wanting him to leave. He finally looked me.

"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for not telling you. I know what I did was horrible and really worng. I don't expect us to be friends right away, but I would like us to be friends again. And I also came to ask if you were going to have me transferred again?" he asked, though he sounded like he was dreading the answer. I sighed and closed the folder with the submission I had been looking through before I stood up.

"Yes, I was going to talk to Chri-I mean, Mr. James later today, but since you brought it up, I might as well go now," I said, walking around the desk. "Please come with me." I motioned for him to do so as I brushed past him and through my office door.

I didn't hear him say anything but I knew he was following me. God, when did I become a bitch? This wasn't like me, bossing people around, not taking peoples shit. Maybe this is what happens when you fuck around with the only person who wasn't a bitch in the first place. The elevator ride was quiet and, I had to admit, a bit awkward. I stepped out of the elevator and turned towards Chris's office. I knocked on the glass door. It took him a moment to come answer it.

"Sav? What are you doing here?" he said, sounding happy to see me, his green grey eyes only on me. Then they found Josh behind me and hardened.

"Chill, we're here to get him transferred," I snapped before he could ask why Josh was here. He nodded and opened the door farther and went to his desk. I motioned Josh to follow me and I took a seat in front of Chris. Josh sat next to me and figeted.

"So, are you sure, Sa-I mean, Miss Blackwell?" Chris asked, taking a pen from his desk and hovering over a paper. He didn't even try to hide the excitement in his voice. I nodded, resisting the urge to roll my eyes at his childishness. Seeing your "enemy" getting transfered and being openly happy about it, was usually frowned apon in society.

"Yes, I think it's time I distanced my personal life from my working life," I said, crossing my arms. Chris nodded, his face falling, and turned to Josh.

"You are aware that I will send you back to Ashley's office, in the PR Department, correct?"

Josh nodded and looked out the window.

"Very well then," Chris said, before filling out a sheet of paper. He stood up and handed it to Josh. "All done. Give this to her when you get there." Josh nodded and left. I got up and turned to leave as well.

"Savanna," Chris said softly. I stopped and turned around, just wanting to leave and let this be behind me for the moment. He was looking at his desk. "The whole separating your personal life from business." He paused and looked up, his eyes pleading with me, begging me. "Did that mean us too?"

I opened my mouth to answer, but Sara ran in, her blond hair a blur as she leaped into Chris's arms.

"Chris!" she squealed. "Oh, baby! I'm so glad you're ok!"

Chris didn't respond to her as he kept his gaze on me. Sara let go of him and turned to me, her eyes hard.

"I'm going to go," I said, turning on my heel.

"Sav!" he called as I left. I heard his footsteps behind me. Then his hand clamped on my arm. I turned, my mouth open to ask him why she called him baby.

"It was a thing. We had sorta been a thing a while ago. It had stopped the night I met you. That's why I was out partying. Alexander thought the entire thing had been bad and when I broke it off, he took me out. Sav, I don't want her, I want you. God, damm Sav. I love you," he said, not giving me a chance to speak. I yanked my arm out of his grip and looked at him then at Sara who was watching from his doorway. The defeated look on her face told me that he was right.

"Ok," I relented. He sighed. "You should have told me though. Or at least meantioned it."

He nodded. "Yes, I know, but I didn't know when to squeeze that in there with what happened. But anything else you want to know about me, tonight, over dinner, you and me, at my place after work," he said, in his business voice that made me think that I couldn't have argued with him even if I had wanted to. I nodded.

"Great," he said before he leaned down and pecked my lips. "I'll see you soon." He winked before he went back into his office.

I smiled and went back to work, butterflies in my stomach for tonight's date. Oh, Sam was going to just love this.
