Chapter 21 \\ New Year's Eve \\ WICELA

Disclaimer: I do not own the Harry Potter series nor everything that comes with it. The rights go to J.K. Rowling. The only things I own are the holes in her stories that I filled with my fantasies.

A/N: This is not the end, after this there will be a epilogue, but be patient ;)

"Is he going to be okay?" Scorpius heard someone say. He thought he recognised the voice as Albus's.

"Well, he has been hit with quite a big spell in his back and seeing as no one seems to know which spell it was, we are certain that those people invented their own spells, which makes coming up with a treatment very difficult for us." This person sighted for a second and continued: "He's doing very well actually and I still think he can suddenly wake up. His brain activity is normal actually and he might even hear us right now. I think he just needs time to wake up and it's only something he can do himself." This Healer - as Scorpius had concluded he was - had said some interesting things, but it wasn't as easy as the Healer said it was. He had forced himself to open up his eyes or to move, but he couldn't.

"My dad and aunt think Scorpius is in some sort of coma, but Muggles mostly die after being in a coma for a week or six. He's already been here half a year," Albus continued. Half a year? HALF A YEAR?! No, that wasn't possible, was it? He'd only been here for like, an afternoon right? Rose was doing worse then he was, so what was that supposed to mean? Could Rose be...No. She wasn't, he couldn't think like that. He needed to figure out how to get himself out of this coma and then he could finally check on Rose.

"Still no changes?" He heard a woman ask. It was his mother. Scorpius immediately felt remorse. He hadn't really told his parents why he was so invested in Rose's case and he had had some fights with his parents about it when they argued they didn't see him anymore. He just had said he had been busy with work and his father told him that babysitting wasn't a grown man's job. For Scorpius it hadn't been more than logical to end that argument by storming out, but now he regretted that a bit.

"No changes ma'am," Albus said silently. He heard his mother laugh.

"Albus, I've told you time and time again it's Astoria," she said sweetly and Scorpius heard Albus grin.

"I'll try to get it into my system," Albus said.

"Albus, I heard you told Healer Vance something about a...Muggle illness that is close to what Scorpius is dealing with?" It was his dad. There was no pain in his voice, he always managed to stay strong. Scorpius always wanted to be more like his dad, it suited his Auror job, but he was more like his mother, more emotionally invested in everything he did.

"Yeah, my dad and aunt Hermione were talking about it and they said that perhaps some Muggle medication could help him. The thing is that after being in a coma for a week or six, Muggles almost always die, but maybe because of Scorpius's wizard blood, he might be able to survive. I don't know, it's just a theory," Albus said. Scorpius liked that theory, he wanted to try everything in order to check up on Rose.

"Granger? Well of course, should've known she would come up with that," his father grinned.

"Granger-Weasley, actually, sir. She has been married to my uncle Ron for a million years next year," Albus said. That was quite a daring remark on his side, Scorpius thought. He actually had to laugh at this, wasn't it for the fact that he couldn't move and thus laugh, but he was satisfied when he heard his mother grin at it.

"Now, now, Draco, calm down. Let's just talk to the Healers about this and figure out whether they can do something with this information or not," his mother said and Scorpius could just feel her shaking her head. His dad and his strange remarks about Rose's mother - or as he called her 'Granger' - became more and more creepy the more he made them. Meh, it must be a family trait.
