Good morning friend.
I laughed so hard Mich poked her head inside my cubicle.
"Umagang kay landi." She greeted.
"Hindi ah." I grinned.
"So anuna daw? Gusto malaman ng fans niyo kung laban o bawi ba kayo." She said.
"Fans?" I asked.
"Present." Therese said.
"Present din." Jia also said and Jamie raised her hand. "Present."
"Very good." Mich said matter-of-factly. "Mukhang prefect attendance tayo today."
"You guys are being silly." I shook my head. "Wala ba kayong sariling mga lovelife?"
"Walang kasing juicy ng sa'yo." Therese nodded.
"Walang pagbabago." I announced. "Friends lang kami."
"Oooowwwssss."
"Oo nga!" I shooed them away. "Get outta here na. Trabaho na!"
"So okay lang mag dinner tayo as a group?" Jia grinned.
"Like, group hang, ganyan?" Jamie added.
"Sure." I shrugged. "Why not?"
"Friendship bonding lang ha." Therese warned. "Bawal magmomol."
"Bawal magmomol?" I laughed. "Kahit momol as a friend?"
"Ayaaaaan."
"Joke lang." I put my hands up.
"Friends nga lang kami ngayon."
When they all left, I typed quickly on my phone.
Hi friend. Okay ka na?
She texted almost immediately.
Yup. Sakit lang ng ulo ko.
Thank you pala sa paghatid sa akin. 🙂I smiled.
Sabi nga nila, that's what friends are for 😉
I decided not to check my phone anymore because I might be tempted to text her again.
. . .
I was squirming in my seat and checking the time.
"Bakit di ka mapakali?" Jia said.
"Hindi naman ah." I said defensively.
"Excited ka na makita si Jho?" Therese smirked.
"No." I said.
"Suuuuus." They all said.
"Hindi nga!" I said again.
"Buti na lang," Mich said. "Nagtext kasi si Jho. Di daw makakapunta."
My face fell immediately. "Why not?"
They all laughed.
"What?" I said.
"Joke lang! Napaghahalataan." Mich shook her head.
"So she's gonna come?" I asked eagerly.
"She's here." Jamie nodded towards the door.
"Hi guys." Jho rushed in and took a seat in front of me. "Sorry late na naman."
I was doing my best to act as casual as possible. I guess she was doing the same too because she barely glanced at my direction.
