Nine

The moon is rising, and the moon people howled with agony.

Here I am, lying in the bed, feeling sick. I forgot to ask medicine to the witch because I was too busy focusing on my mental breakdown but, there are lots of questions floating in my mind, waiting for it to be answered.

Alpha Magnus was sitting in the chair next to my bed. It was clear that he was worried about my condition which lessen my thoughts about him as my enemy. I always thought that moon people are enemies, because they take women from the tribe. The people in the tribe, including myself, always thought that the woman, the new alpha chose, will be sacrificed and be devoured by each of the moon people. 

But we were wrong, those past women who was chosen by the alpha was their mates, their destined one, and, I was one of them. But about what Lilly said, what does she mean one woman from the tribe was rejected by the past alpha? Where is she? What happened to her?

"I will call another witch to ask for a medicine to cure you, will be that okay for you, Ahyoka?" Alpha Magnus asked.

"It's okay. But, can I ask you a question?" I asked.

He looked at me and held my hand tight but it doesn't really hurt.

"Sure."

"Did you have any strange, peculiar dreams lately? And also, am I in your dream?" I carefully asked.

I can feel his hands weren't moving right now. He was staring at me blankly, there was no facial expression in his face, he was unreadable.

"Yes."

"Do I have claws in your dream?" I asked once again.

"...yes..."

"What do I look like in your dream?" I asked, and this time, it will be my last question, for now.

"A monster. A bloodsucking, monster." Alpha Magnus said while looking down in my hand.

I feel like I stopped breathing for a moment. A bloodsucking creatures? Does he mean, that I, became a vampir? How? Vampir are actually extinct and both of my parents are human.

I was about to stand up but I can't, my body felt heavy, and I can't feel my legs.

"I, can't feel my legs."

Suddenly, Alpha Magnus gently let go of my hand and stood up. He gave me a smile and said, "I'll be right back, just take a rest and I will bring a witch to cure you. Goodbye, for now."

Before Alpha Magnus left the room, I manage to whisper in the air, "Goodbye."

"The day has begun my brother," she playfully said.

"I already told you, stop playing with the people's life, Astátheia. You already ruined the balance," Isozýgio, her brother said.

Astâtheia scowled and looked at her kind brother.

"Boo hoo, Isozýgio! You're no fun at all."

"It is not fun to destroy human's life, Astâtheia, you know that. Oh wait, no you don't." Isozýgio said, and then he rolled his eyes.

Astâtheia ignored his brother and stared at the magic crystal ball. She was watching Ahyoka, sleeping peacefully in her room.

"Boring! Let's watch the boy's current movement instead," Astâtheia smirked.

She waved her hand in the air and showed her Alpha Magnus, travelling in his wolf form, seeking for a witch to cure his mate.

"I sense trouble in his path, this will be very interesting," Astâtheia wickedly smiled.

"Astâtheia, did you interfere with their lives again?!" Isozýgio angrily asked.

"What? No! I am waiting for the exciting part, my dear brother," Astâtheia said.

Isozýgio scowled and glared at his good for nothing sister. Even though his sister only cause chaos, while he balance everything, he couldn't actually hate his sister even though she always tend to destroy his work because she was his only sibling after all.

"If you interfere again with the fates, Astâtheia, I swear, I won't stop the elders to punish you," Isozýgio seriously said.

Astâtheia looked at his brother with playfulness in her expression which made her brother feel anxious.

"My dear brother, we are the fates, even if I destroy your balance, it is part of the fates, because you and I, control them." Astâtheia said.

Before Astâtheia left, she closed the magic crystal ball and disappeared in the thin air, leaving her brother worried.
