"Are you okay, my princess?" asked the general as he helped me up and I hug him, he raised his shield as he made way through the commotion, with his other hand he wrapped my waist and pulled me with him, eggs, tomatoes, beer and other things hit me, ruining my dress and pride.

As soon as we were inside the booth I closed the curtains and sat on the right throne, I put my hands on my face as I cried

"Everything is fine now my princess, you're safe here with me" said the general

"Why do they hate me so much?" I sobbed "I'm not responsible for my father's act, why do I have to suffer the consequences?"  the general kneeled in front of me and took off his helmet 

"I don't know my princess, but as long as I'm around no one will harm you anymore" I I hugged him as I cried on his shoulder

"Sometimes, I don't want to be a princess" he hugged my waist and caressed my hair, slowly calming down my sadness

"I know some things can be hard, especially when you know is not your fault but people won't believe you, but we have to carry on, if you fall down seven times get up eight. You can't give up, not yet, you're young and beautiful, you have a whole future in front of you, waiting to be discovered" I looked at him in the eyes as my tears rolled down my face "My past is not pretty either, but I managed to push through it, I talked to myself about, how I was going to get out of the situation and how everything was going to be fine" I looked down but he pulled my chin up "Because when the rain comes, you can see a beautiful rainbow, reminding you how beautiful is to be alive"

"General-"

"Luke" I cried on his shoulder as he hugged me

---time skip - back at the castle---

Luke POV:

I carried the princess back to his room, he fell asleep and I had to take him back, I put him delicately on his bed, I looked at him as he slept quietly, he looked so beautiful and calm, I took off his crown and shoes as I got him under the covers and kissed his forehead

"Good night my beautiful princess" I whispered as I walked out of his room

"How is he?" asked Bryce

"Fine, he needs some rest, any news from the border?"

"Oh yes eemm... some guards saw some enemy horses on the far side of the kingdom, they're not sure why"

"Okay, thank you again Bryce"

"No problem general" he then walked away, I ran to the garden to meet some guards

"General, sir!"

"Report"

"We caught this two on the far side of the land" the brought two young Vikings to their knees

"What were you doing here?" I asked the prisoners

"Our lord is coming, and there's nothing to stop him"

"Why is he coming back? what does he want?"

"Isn't it obvious? the princess, our Jarl needs to leave his kingdom in good hands"

"And why does he think we'll take care of his kingdom?"

"Not the princess! a child, he needs a child"
