MaNan: It all started with a lie

Holi: MaNan Style

Manik: nandini open your eyes...dekho...its just water
He cooed.

Nandini*still hugging him*: no manik...I can't swim. I'll drown

Manik*smiling slightly* : why? You don't trust me? You think I'll let you drown?
He asked softly and that's when nandini opened her eyes and slowly broke the hug but the next instant her eyes widened when she found manik shirtless, dripping wet with water.

Nandini: manik tumhari shirt kaha hai?
She whined with her eyes closed and manik chuckled.

Manik: come on nandini. I am not naked sirf shirt hi toh nahi pehni. What's the big deal?
He asked nonchalantly.

Manik*softly* : open your eyes nandini

She nodded in a no.

Manik: nandini
He whispered and she slowly opened her eyes and soon enough drowned in his chocolate orbs that she didn't even realise when she got trapped in between the wall of the pool and manik.

Manik: acha so now tell me....kaunsa colour lagau?

He pulled the plate of colours towards them and started pointing out different colours.

Manik: yellow?

Nandini: manik....

Manik: um..green?

Nandini: manik listen...

Manik: aah...how about blue? (He looked towards nandini but she wasn't paying any attention to the colours) nahi?...acha so pink?

Nandini: manik!
She cribbed but he ignored.

Manik: I asked your choice but tum toh kuch bol hi nahi rahi ho so now main apna favourite colour lagaunga, red!

He said with his evil smirk on.

Nandini: manik no....mujhe haath mat lagana....stay away!

She said struggling but manik was least bothered.He fisted the red colour in his palm and slowly moved close to her. Nandini shut her eyes tightly as he moved closer but opened her eyes soon when she felt him doing nothing. She peeked through her one eye and found manik intensely gazing at her.

Nandini: manik
She whispered.

Manik: tumne hi kaha na haath mat lagao so...
He trailed off and applied the red colour on his own face, confusing nandini.

Before nandini could realise what exactly was he doing, she found manik leaning closer to her and soon his warm cheeks brushed with her chubby ones. Nandini's heart thudded loudly and her breath hitched due to Manik's closeness, her legs turned into jelly and hence she clutched Manik's shoulder tightly to support her dizzy frame.

Nandini just closed her eyes feeling the moment and manik clutched her waist, jerking her close knowing the effect he had on her. Both were lost in each other, trying to decipher what was going within them, what did their heart and soul demanded.

Manik: happy holi nandini
He whispered huskily, brushing his lips on her ear lobe deliberately which did nothing but made nandini tighten her hold on manik.

Manik slowly carried her out of the pool in his arms and made her sit on one of the sunchairs near the pool area which broke their trance. Nandini then realised that she was supposed to remain angry on manik. She pouted angrily, throwing a cute angry glare at Manik's way.

Manik: ooohhhhh...I am scared

He said acting all scared where in reality he was just mocking her.

Nandini: youuu....huh! I won't talk to you only!
She declared angrily with her arms crossed against her chest, her face turned the other side pouting angrily. Manik smiled slightly seeing her cute antics. He so wanted to pull those chubby cheeks of hers but controlled himself and then bent down beside her.

Manik: nandini I am sorry...please. Its just I wanted to celebrate my favourite festival with you. Its been eight years nandini since we last celebrated holi together and do you even know how much I missed celebrating festivals with you?

He confessed cutely and nandini melted, afterall who could resist his
cuteness .

Nandini*sternly*: this is the last time I an forgiving you manik. Next time if you pull such pranks on me na then i will never ever talk to you and I am serious about it

Manik: ha pakka...this was the last time. So sorry accepted?

Nandini*smiles*: yes

Manik: Thankyouuuuu!!
He said excitedly, crushing her in his hug. She giggled at this manchild who was her best friend and gladly completed the hug.

After some time

Nandini was busy cleaning herself with a wet towel whereas manik was off to his room to change when she saw workers bringing in holi posters and colours at the poolside. She got confused seeing them and decided to ask manik about it as she saw him walking towards her while rolling up his shirt sleeves.

Nandini*confused*: manik yeh sab?

Manik: agar college bolta toh tum thodi na aati?

Nandini*amazed*: matlab tumne puri holi party apne ghar shift karli taki tum mere saath holi khel sako?

Disbelief laced her voice.

Manik: well yes
He answered sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.

Nandini*wiping her hair with the towel*: manik tum pagal ho

Manik: I know (he then notices nandini cleaning herself) are tum itni mehnat kyu kar rahi ho? Ek baar colour laga liya toh you think ki ab dusri baar nahi lagaunga!? Come on nandu yaar

Nandini: we will see
She huffed cutely, faking anger.

Manik: ok...We. Will. See!
He smirked.
