Look Up

Look up, look up
Nobody ever does
They look down,
At the feet that take them forward
Scared of the world above their toes
They look straight,
At other humans
Somehow expecting relief from the pain
When everybody else can barely hold tears in
The sadness that envelopes the earth
Sorry about epidemics,
The extinction of the human race,
They should be worried about the sadness
And the happiness
Nobody's not safe from nothing
It's everywhere
Nobody sees it,
But they smell it
In the color of the sky
They breathe it in
The letters, words
That nobody cares to read any more
Don't they know that words have the greatest power?
So look up, darling, and we'll breathe the sky together.
