Part 16

A meeting between Pearls, that was certainly rare- but not too hard to find

Now a meeting between all of the diamonds in one room

It was almost unheard of for decades

They all sat down, Yellow Pearl had several tablets carried by her Pearl holograms, while she sat smugly- looking at the other Pearl who attempted to hide behind the cloak of her diamond

Her?why, she simply watched

"Good to see you both" Blue diamond spoke, her voice barely reaching a whisper "how are all of you today"

"Cut to the chase blue" Yellow retorted 

"now now" the sweet sultry voice of her diamond replied "let us be formal about this, Blue- please tell us about this human you spoke of" She sighed, they could get more progress done.

"Yes, there were was one human i had deposited, and another put by a Sapphire" she continued "they were strange, they weren't in the zoo anymore. They simply disappeared" 

"so what does that mean?"

"possibly, that they are not human if they have the strength to fight back and go back to earth"

"so what do we do?" her diamond spoke

"we get them back and see what they are" a different voice spoke, different then all the voices that spoke

An Emerald, Peridot, Topaz and Citrine were standing behind the table, Citrine spoke "my diamond had assigned me to design a plan for the strange creatures, so I will assign a Peridot and Emerald to find those two on earth

"but what if they decide to fail the mission?" Yellow diamond scowled

"thats why there are two of them Yellow diamond" she pointed to Emerald "if one steps out of line" she then pointed to Peridot "the other will reinforce them" she looked back at her 

they knew what would occur after, but will the loyalty of their gems be in their favor?

Present time

"Clods..." Peridot mumbled in her sleep. Steven giggled gently as he brushed her hair. She barely got to relax like this. He hummed quietly in the field, feeling the gentle breeze gust by them, it felt like a perfect day. He finally combed into a perfect triangle, the way she liked it. He stood up to get his cheeseburger backpack and pulled out his snacks,

little did he know Peridot was already tearing the grass, screaming "STEEEEEVEEEEEN!" he ran back to her and embraced her quickly, turning back to face her

"Peri, are you okay?!" Steven asked worriedly, Peridot visibly calmed down and smiled

"I'm glad you're here" she 'nyeh'd gleefully

"Don't worry me like that 'Dot!" he said bashfully, hugging her once more. This had become a habit, Steven would leave for a minute, and Peridot would go nuts if he wasn't in her line of sight. It, perhaps, started when the Crystal Gems left to take care of the sent homeworld gem's attack. It took a lot but Steven stayed on earth, to take care of lars by Lion's mane . To take care of his best friend Connie, Lapis and Onion. And protect his gem, Peridot.

"Sit down, I'm making bagels" he sat and started unpacking his food. Peridot watched as he spread the spread onto the bread, Peridot then tracing the edges of the bagel, smiling ever so slightly

"What're you thinking about?" Steven handed her a bagel, she took it and laughed out loud, causing Steven to yelp in suprise

"How lucky I am to be- well, unlucky!" Peridot laughed once more "If you hadn't interrupted my plans, I would've never been here with you!" Steven blushed, t'was true. They ate and watched the sun go by, before a certain blue gem flew by and landed gracefully before them

"Hey guys," she turned to the green gem" I brought you something" she smiled and handed Peridot a small box, wrapped in green foil, before she posed in finger guns, winking "I got'yo numbah" Lapis mimicked the voice of her room mate. Peridot's eyes sparkled

"OH MY GOSH LAPIS" she squeeled and received the gift, opening it to see it was a recording tape, like her previous one, only green. she thanked her numerous times while Steven watched her contentedly

"Oh, oh! Steven! look at that! Percy is standing next to Pierre!" she pointed to the TV, Steven adjusted his position in the blanket and briefly nodded. he couldn't help but seem to notice she was gripping on to something.

"Peri? whats that?"

"Oh, uh, its just my recorder Steven" she smiled again

"But why is it on-"

"Oh OH, Paula stop rambling!" Peridot groaned, Steven pouted and continued watching, he'd investigate later. He tried to concentrate but he only heard white noise and only saw the secrets of his best friend- no, HIS gem, being hidden from him. They were practically one but she made no movement of his question

Peridot's POV

Okay, I'm lying- I watched that episode two hundred forty-two times already, but I wanted to be with Steven so I played the episode. So what if I'm lying?! I just wanted to spend time with him! Its not bad to want to hang out with him is it? I'm not evil anymore so I wouldn't do anything bad! We could talk about the episode and discuss the relationships between- Oh wait, he fell asleep, ugh, stupid human needs! Its like the earth hates me, why even?! I saved you, you clod... Well, that sucks, I wanted to see his reaction to the lake necklace arc. I reach for his blanket and put it over him, its kinda nice to see him relaxing too.

"Steven, you never can catch a break huh?" I whispered into my recorder "Always having to deal with terrible things, because you're also a gem" sometimes I wish he could talk to me about these things, its so frustrating

"Well its good I'm here" I stopped the recorder. "I wish I could record my whole existance from the start but there aren't enough recorders on this planet to do that, So I'll manage" I explained. "Wouldn't it be great to get away and just watch Camp pining hearts? Like, we could invite all the Crystal gems and then 'eat' food. Lapis could get along with Amethyst, Nyehehe!" I laughed at the thought of them wrecking havoc, those two.

"Have you ever seen Lapis with a 'spray paint can'? She made so many humans mad!" I thought at what I just said 'Oh god if she finds out-'

"Don't ever tell her I told you that, I'd be shattered if you did" I felt a tingle on my back. EUghh, scary. I looked around, hoping noone heard

"Anyway. As much as  I like setting goals, Steven, human activities are suprisingly fulfilling" I thought back to my years on homeworld "Like everything I've done on Homeworld was so slow and boring. The humans here have such fascinating ways to entertain themselves before doom, but it feels right" I poked Steven's face, the fleshy pudge was always nice "I wonder what it would be like, If we were human" I speak out my thoughts "I mean, we would be far from superior but it would be cool. Who knows it might even bring your mo-"

oh my stars what did I just say

"I-I-I mean, forget it! It would be great to be human probably, but It'd hurt more"

...

"Physically I mean. Atleast no stupid work everywhere"

 I didn't want to be too sappy but I wanted to talk more. What else was there to talk about?

"So... um"

"Do you want hear what you and I did today?"

Im so sorry guys, I wasn't around for so long, I kinda drifted actually. But I'm here to end the series so this story can be on its merry way.
