Part 16: Prologue

thin, long and graceful legs stepped on the polished marble-like floor. her moves were precise but not commanding, she didn't ask for attention- she didn't need to. The Diamond assigned to her already made people gawk in her direction and stare at her in envy

"I wish I could be that close to her..."

"What would I do to be a Pearl"

"she's so lucky to be her Pearl!"

"Quiet!"

She snickered, at least there was something to live for

"Good morning fellow gems" the crowd cheered as she ran to open the doors for her Diamond. She smiled as her Diamond laid her head low(as much as she could) and thanked her. She sat down on her chair and other gems flocked to the main entrance to get a glimpse of the VERY special occasion.

"My diamond, do you request of anything?" The pearl spoke

"no, my Pearl, thank you" she smiled once again. Mostly the Pearl's of Quartz's had been scared to death but she had been made with a kind and intelligent master. It didnt take long till two other doors open. one figure was bright and threatening, the other gloomy and slouched.

"Good morning fellow diamonds"
